Seriously, it will be higher that prediction of mine at the end most likely.

Hehe, I see.

Well, anything under $10 million would seriously surprise me, actually.

Current RT meters:

The Grudge - 28%, 5 out of 18 fresh, 4.5/10
Surviving Christmas - 8%, 1 out of 13 fresh, 3/10

I think The Grudge will end up similar to The Forgotten for the RT meter, and we know how well that is doing. Critics shouldn't effect its gross much at all.

Surviving Christmas, on the other hand, won't be another Shall We Dance. Don't think this one will get above 10M this weekend.

The Grudge- 26 mil (I don't know why people want to see the Ring 1.5, but they do)
Shark Tale-15 mil
Shall We Dance- 8 mil
Team America- 7 mil, there is a little bias in that number
Friday Night Lights- 7 mil
Surviving Christmas- 6.5 mil (Looks better than the Kranks...would do good numbers if it was just promoted)
I Heart Huckabees- 5 mil
Ladder 49- 4.5 mil
Taxi- 3 mil
The Forgotten- 2 mil, I thnk we all know it will drop from Direct Compeititon with The Ring 1.5

Well its been out for a month now, and the Grudge is going for the exact same audience. It really has nothing going for it.

But 66% does seem a little harsh, how about 50%

Even 50% is pretty high. The week to week drop right now is only 20%. Double that for a drop 40-45% seems reasonable.

Here is what I said

The Grudge - 25.3 (Between TCM and Forgotten).
Shark Tale - 14.4 (Ditto on Ragnaroks reason).
Shall We Dance - 9.6 (Great midweek business and theater boost).
Surviving Christmas - 7.8 (Fair screencount, even though Affleck is in it).
Friday Night Lights - 7.6 (Ditto again).
Team America - 6.1 (Horrible midweek).
Ladder 49 - 5.2
Taxi - 4.4
I Heart Huckabee - 3.9
Forgotten - 3.8 (Hurt a bit by Grudge, though being closer to Halloween will help it).

top ten total - 88.1 million.

I think the general consensus is $20-$30 million, and nothing outside those barriers. Generally, when the masses stick to one general area, it tends to go against that. Anyone feel The Grudge will do really badly, or even do a ton better than we think? Probably not, but just a theory.

Having seen the movie, this should not do well after Friday. I'm certain it is not going to do better than everybody thinks.
