Fantastic for Pirates. It should be number one again by tomorrow with a good hold. If that holds true, this will be the second weekday increase for POTC.

At this point, It's very likely that POTC2 will hold second place again just like last weekend.

It's possible, though unlikely, that Pirates could take second for the weekend. Unlikely
because Miami Vice, being more of an urban film, will probably have a much larger Friday
increase than Pirates.
It would be awesome if the estimates are off just enough for Pirates to take first for
Tuesday. Probably not going to happen though.

I think it will be a tough race for 2nd this weekend
Piratest, Miamie Vice, could both be around 12 million
and who know the Descent, or Barnyard could break out

I think the reviews and the premise, not to mention the marketing could bring the Descent near 10 million.
Barnyard might do a little better than Ant Bully, so an 11 million could be possible, but yea, I dont see Vice falling 50%, so 12.5 looks like a minimum.

Non-domestic horror films typically don't well in the U.S.. The reviews say Descent should do well while history does not.

Nothing in the marketing made me believe it was a foreign movie I havent done a lot of research, it looked pretty American to me actually. But the fact that there has never been a good Austust horror movie, it somewhat bolds well. I think Dark Water did 12 million during this time, I think 10 million could be reasonable, its only getting 1600 theaters I think.

Yeah, horror is the genre least depending on reviews in term of gross; in fact, the correlation seems to be negative (better reviews, worse box office). Much better off going by history, and it doesn't bode well for Descent.

The Ring was well-reviewed, and it's the biggest horror film in a decade.

Maybe today, POTC 2 will pass Miami Vice, if so, Miami Vice has been a dissapointment.

Prada keeps *owning* the weekday legs race. Its insane.
Yay, Little Miss Sunshine rose since yesterday. If it stays above 8,000 pta all week, I'm really seeing an incredible second weekend!
