 My Super Ex-Girlfriend prediction thread
Forgive me if there's already a thread for this.
I'm still waiting for a trailer to confirm my thoughts, but as of now I see this as the surprise comedy hit of the summer. Appealing and fun cast + Good concept + Not too much competition =
16/48
EDIT - Lowered it with the trailer

I think it's kind of unpredictable at the moment. I need a trailer.

Pretty much the same as Magnus, I have 20/65. The poster doesn't make it look that appealing, and there's no trailer out yet. I can't see it breaking out that much.

The trailer was a bit ... weak. It really is a great idea for a romcom, if it was handled as a tentpole like say Bewitched was last year, it could've been a big one.
Unfortunatly, I'm not really feeling it that much anymore...

Great concept, weak trailer. Maybe TV spots can fix it.
Opening weekend - $22.4 million
Total gross - $69 million

Still not sure on this one. It looks like it'll be a hit, but I don't know. I could see it making like $15 million opening weekend and finishing just over $50 million, which is decent. It's not going to be a huge $100 million hit, though.

This movie is kind of unpredictible, it could really go either way. It sounds great on paper but the trailer sucks!

A few months ago I thought this would struggle to $50m. But now I get the feeling this could be THE comedy of July.
$28m/$102m

I too am thinking, and have thought this way since i saw the trailer a few months ago, that thsi is the sleeper of the summer. It looks genuinely funny, and hilarious at other times. Throwing a shark through the window, that had me in stitches. And Luke Wilson looks tailor made for this role. I think it will have a moderate opening but will have great legs.

Yea, but with your numbers, that would be a hit.

The idea is original, and how many ideas can you say that about in film?

Well I thought that this would do well months ago, and still do. It will be the comedy of the summer.

Final Predictions were:
Opening weekend - $13.2 million
Total gross - $43 million
Looks like it will do even worse. The studio dropped the ball on it BIG time. With a better release date (not against a gazillion of comedies) and better marketing, it could have easily done $60+ million.
