It is a said day that when a movie is going to open between 90-110 OW and have an OD between 32-42 million that an excuses thread will be neccesary. But here we are with people on this site clinging to the last remaining potential blockbuster clinging to like rats on a sinking ship hoping for some BO numbers that are completely out the ball park. This for all you 60 million OD predictors.

EXCUSE #1 This isn't a fanboy film, people don't rush out to see it right away watch just see next week it will have 10% increase and break spiderman's OW in it's second weekend after WoM gets out how good it is. After that it is going to get another 50% increase and outgross the Matrix in its third weekend alone. In fact the movies weekends will continue to increase until it can surpass titanics gross on a single friday then slowly it will have drops of .1% a month for 1000 weeks before finally they decide to take it out of the theaters because of the Apocolypse has put the Rapture on everything not PoTC!

Just watch and see the only downside is this will hold back PoTC 3 until after the apocolypse.

Um, no. The only person who thinks it will get a $60 million day is DP07. So, if you want to be like that, I suppose this thread is only for him if you are setting it that high.

However, your general message is that this won't be as a big as expectations (which is about $100-130 million weekend), and therefore their will be excuses, like with Superman (see examples in the thread). I think you'll be wrong.

Yes But i have changed my OD prediction to around 36 million and have a small decrease on Sunday. I am predicting 96 million and 110 is extremely high.

I believe a 40 million OD is attainable, but i feel that will be due to a rush which will take some business from Sunday or at least result in a higher then nrmal drop on sunday.

But a 50 million OD is nuts and 60 is BJ and DP07.

Betcha it is closer to 96 then 130 anyways.

$113 million is the mid-point of those figures, so if it ends up getting below $113 million, you win. If it is above $113 million, I win.

No, 90m opening weekend is impossible. 90m opening day......well, with a sudden midnight rush of 20m and sellouts everywhere all day, it's just possible.
