No change for TDVC. Nice jump for Over the Hedge.

Stick It rounding up to 1.0 will help everybody (don't think anybody went lower).

TDVC's Sunday drop was indeed overestimated, but its actual Friday gross is down to $28,630,324.

I had a feling that da vinci code was not going to have a Significant increase in the actuals. It seemed like the estimates for it seemed correct.

The number remained the same because, while the Sunday drop was overestimated, Friday was quite overestimated from the beginning. Even BOM's $29 million figure was a bit off.

Nothing surprising here, not to mention that Akeelah and the Bee dropped -58% from last weekend.

I'll look forward to the showdown with DVC and other movies.

Is Silent Hill the first movie to finish with under 50 after opening with more than 20?

God, movies have no legs anymore.

Poseidon could come close to joining that club as well, without Memorial Day it would be a lock.

Huge drops all around. Not a single film in the top twenty fell less than 40%. Movies really need Memorial Day next weekend to recover.

Yep, the DaVinci Code actually dropped less on both Saturday and Sunday, and it's friday gross was overestimated the whole time. So it is actually less frontloaded than how it initially appeared. A great weekend for the film, actually went up, even if only a tinsy tinsy bit, from estimates. Heh.

Over the Hedge improved too. That's cool.

I look forward to the another big weekend with Memorial Day weekend!!

PEACE, Mike.

Nice, but I'm worried about the next couple weeks. We only have one film opening for the next two weeks, and the box office needs new films BADLY. The bottom of the top ten is absolutely miserable, with three of the films not being able to hit 1.5 million, equaling a horrid 3.8 million combined. The entire bottom top five can't even make 12 million, that's absolutely ridiculous.

Glad Davinci Code stayed over $77M.
Very nice jump for Over The Hedge.

Nice jump aswell for See No Evil, may well pass it's budget next weekend. American Haunting will pass it's budget next weekend too. Weird, because i expected both the little summer-horror movies to bomb.
Let's see if The Omen, Pulse and Snakes On A Plane can keep the successful run going.

Nope. This weekend's top 12 made $154.9m, whereas the top 12 last year made $157.6m.

Yeah this weekend is covered, but how about June 2nd, when only The Break-Up opens? Best case scenario it explodes with maybe 40 million, but worst case could be closer to 20 million. Either way, it's insane how long American Haunting is going to stay in the top 10 for. When was the last time the box office had a film in the top ten make under a million, let alone multiple films?

Also, the daily breakdown is quite good. The 28.6 mill Friday is less than we all thought, btu a 4% drop on Saturday adn a 22% decline on Sunday is pretty good. The legs will be decent.

Good improvement for Hedge. It went from a 3.34 Fri-weekend multiplier with estimates, to a 3.57 with actuals. That is a huge difference! That is higher than Nemo's 3.48, but under Shrek 1's 3.66. It's still great news regardless. It must have been due to my seeing it on Sunday.

As shown by the Google trends, Canada really was a huge push for Da Vinci's opening weekend. Also, by a regional change from last weekend, Canada's box office went up 109 %, while the other regions went up 70% at most. We should get a very nice Monday figure for it.
