BKB said it was 75% full a few pages back, I think. He projects "$70-80 million for the weekend before the hype dies and it falls to its death," but I'm pretty sure he's wrong this week. It'll be a lot higher.

Thanks for the update Zing.
When I saw Davinci I only noticed two people leave from my point of view and there was some mild applause at the end, but I didn't get any sense that the audience was bored with this film so I don't think it's gonna come crashing down at all. I also agree with Baumer in that the critics either have an agenda with their overtly negative reviews or some other reason because it's not near as bad (if at all) as most critics are trying to make it appear.

If only BKB had a digital camera, he can take weekly photoshots of Rons parking lot and image it on these forums

The Davinci Code
7:30 PM, Sold out in a 250 Seater
Trailers:
Casino Royale
Click
Miami Vice
World Trade Center
Movie:
First of all, as I suspected, I can boldly say the critics are frigging morons. The movie is fantastic. The pacing is just right. The movie is very faithful to the book. The performances are good. Tatou's performance was quite good. I loved her exchange with Bettany. Background score and cinematography is fabulous.
I think the movie will have good WOM.
A
P.S:
Regal Sunset Station 13
DVC sold out 12 shows after 4:00 PM
OTH sold out 5 shows after 4:00 PM

The crowd reports really don't seem poor for OTH. I wonder if yahoo will have an extremely low ratio.

I think so.
OTH is doing remakably well considering how big DVC is. I would not be shocked if DVC ended up with $40M. It sold out all shows after 5:00PM.
Tomorrow OTH will have a huge increase.

If it has 40m I think it will break Spider-Man's record. There were so many sellouts that business will be pushed to Sat and Sun. Besides with adults it was bound to increase anyway on Sat, and Sun will have a small drop with the holiday weekend.

DP07, you boldly predicted that DVC and X-3 may get to $100M. This baby is close. Either way great call. You have been in a zone recently.

Thanks though.

MCN now has a note as well saying an over $30m Friday is expected. Wonder if they are following this thread.

I also checked with AMC for today's showings. Four evening shows are sold out already.

The AMC is what I was looking at. I'll probably check out the 11:05 Da Vinci, but I doubt it'll do much business this early in the day.

Seems as though The Omen trailer is being shown with The DaVinci Code and See No Evil....Nice.
The Descent trailer with See No Evil? I thought they hadn't even decided on a release date yet?
The trailer for the Descent is fantastic, hopefully they'll staple it to 'Omen' and 'Pulse'.

If I see a Nathan Fillion look-a-like, I'll wave.

North Central Illinois
May 19 7:00 PM About a 200 seat theater 95% Full
Click - good reaction (Sandler is very popular in my area)
Cars - some laughs mostly at Larry the Cable Guy (he is also very popular in my area)
Lake House - nothing
World Trade Center - a few "Why would they make a movie about this"
James Bond - nothing
Miami Vice - nothing
Overal B+
I don't agree with the critics at all on this. I found it very interesting especially the second half when Teabing comes in it got very fun at that part. I have not read the book but I did see one of the twists coming but not the one at the very end. I'm guuna have to see this again because the guy in front of me his head blocked half the screen from me and a girl behind me wouldn't stop talking out loud during the first half of the film. I think the crowd was really into it they laughed and jumped at the right parts and I could tell there interset really peaked in the second half. Also the crowd was made up by mostly Adults and young adults with a few groups of teenagers as well.

I wish I looked like Fillion. I'd go gay for him in a heartbeat. Of course, I'd go gay for most people...
Erm, not really. I'm not gay! (If my girlfriend reads this thread, I think I'm going to get weird looks)

That's over 5000 admits right there (about $45,000 right here). This is nothing short of phenominal.
Scott looks like we might have a little race for highest gross on our hands Heh we also did over 5000 for the day after we added another midnight interlock last night..
Heh im kinda curious how we might rank in the nation.. Ill probably find out later today once official numbers come in
