Which young actress will have a better movie career
With Lindsay Lohan's movie underperforming at the boxoffice (and destroying my derby score in the process), I think it is appropriate to evaluate the future of her acting career with respect to other popular young actresses.
So the question is: Who do you think will have a rosy career based on her previous performance?
My vote goes to Rachel McAdams (a fellow Canadian, of course).

Rachel McAdams by a long shot. She's easily the most talented actress on the list and keeps away from tabloid sensationalisation by being sensible in what she does as a celebrity.
Lindsay Lohan is on the fast track to rehab. Her latest movie just flopped and no one really cares about her since she caved to the pressures of Hollywood. She is no longer a role model for young girls, nor is she mature enough to be considered a serious actress. The roles will dry up quickly for her unless she sorts herself out.
Jessica Alba has made the big mistake of investing her film career entirely on her looks and body. Great right now, but the girl will never be offered serious roles as a result, and theres only so many disposable box office movies you can star in before someone younger and more attractive comes in to take over. Sarah Michelle Gellar is basically doing everything right post Buffy, whilst Alba is doing everything wrong post Dark Angel.
Olsen Twins will always be around, they will never succeed as film actresses because they refuse to act solo, but they are a conglomerate brand in their own right and as long as they stick together, they are going to appeal in seedy DVD films.
Jessica Simpson is a joke. People are already sick of her. Girls blame her for her split from Nick Lachey whilst guys have seen the latest wave of Simpson pictures and suddenly she isn't looking as hot as she did in Dukes. Again a star who's put way too much emphasis on her sexual appeal and not enough emphasis on her acting ability (if she has any) which ultimately means shes a disposible star, a Jenny McCarthy in the making.
Hilary Duff will likely flourish into a medium sized film star. She severely lacks acting chops, but she has a fanbase that never seems to die, she has the opportunity to have a career and appears to be semi-focused on it.
Amanda Bynes is my favourite aside from McAdams to succeed long term. Everything about her career at this stage is going in the right direction. A second hit movie in a row suggest people like to see her, and shes maintaining just the right amount of press exposure so people don't forget about her, but aren't sick of her either. Her face and body are not perfect by Hollywood standards, but it makes her endearing to women who feel less threatened by her onscreen and more attractive to guys at the same time. Bynes has acting talent, if she picks roles carefully over the next year or two, a long career is surely ahead.

It's a little odd to lump Rachel McAdams in with the rest of these people, considering she's turning 30 this year.

1. Mcadams
2. Bynes
3. Alba
4. Duff

I also had Anne Hathaway on the poll but I guess the max number of entries is 7.

But she can't act so she won't be around as long as Rachel, who is WAY, WAY hotter than that ugly slag, IMO anyway.

None of those. From young actress I would choose Natalie Portman.

McAdams doesn't belong in that group. She's quite a bit older, she picks more mature projects, and... oh yeah, she can actually act. She'll have the best career by far.

Yeah, McAdams shouldn't really be in the poll. She's almost 30+, and it's obvious at this point that she's on her way to becoming one of the top actresses.
As for the rest:
Jessica Alba will be around for a long time, but always having that sex appeal. Maybe one serious role, but people won't go for her much.
Lohan is finished. If anything, getting arrested countlessly for crack and cocaine charges will give her media attention a few years down the road. Otherwise, goodbye.
Olsen Twins will fade a lot, people will remember them as the child stars and not much more. They'll still be behind the curtains with their zillions of dollars though, working fashion and merchandise.
Jessica Simpson = Playboy. Then a fizzle out, almost immediatley after that.
Hilary Duff will disappear as well, similar to Tiffany and that girl who sang Electric Beat in the 80s. She's growing out of it. Possibly she'll get married, and settle down. Not a bad lifestyle.
Bynes will do well. Because McAdams doesn't count, she's the top dog. She's got the charisma, and a great early start. People actually like her, and so far she's choosing smart roles.
Should've been on the list-ers:
Dakota Fanning: Will sit out of the movie spotlight in her teen years, then will have the big "comeback" in her 20s, on route to a career status like Drew Barrymore, except with more Oscar-like roles.
Sophia Bush: Will do well. Without The Chad on her back, the oppurtunity to rise into fame is there. I think it'll be a couple years until she really starts hitting it big, but for now I'd put her up there with Bynes as the brightest stars. I'm a biased fan, but I honestly believe she has a good future.

Q'Orianka Kilcher
But non-whites never get many big roles.

Seriously, also considering that McAdams has made the jump to adult roles and acclaim whereas the others have not. Alba is taking crap adul roels, and the rest are still trying to break out of the teen set or haven't even tired to yet (like Bynes).

But she's already accomplished. It would an insult to group her with Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Byrnes.
