I think The Benchwarmers is being underpredicted.

Final Derby Predictions:
1. Ice Age: The Meltdown- $38.8 million
2. Take The Lead- $21.1 million
3. The Benchwarmers- $21.0 million
4. Inside Man- $9.0 million
5. Lucky Number Slevin- $6.5 million
6. ATL- $6.0 million
7. Phat Girlz- $5.0 million
8. Failure to Lanch- $3.7 million
9. V For Vendetta- $3.3 million
10. She's The Man- $2.8 million
I think everyone is underpredicting The Benchwarmers and Take the Lead.

Great article, as always Xia. My only difference in opinion here is in this statement:
Quote: However, just on the same weekend last year, Fever Pitch performed similarly well there, had almost exact the same theater count, but was only able to open to $12.4 million.
Here you have Fever Pitch, a romantic comedy, and the Benchwarmers. After looking at the fact that they opened on the same weekend and were about baseball, the similarities stop there. Benchwarmers:
-Has better known comedy stars (Drew Barrymore may be a draw but Jimmy Fallon has almost NO following)
-Is aimed towards a younger audience
-Doesn't need good reviews to assist its Box Office
-Doesn't specifically shy away potential viewers (Although I'm a huge Sox fan, it was obvious FP did not perform as well as it could have simply because not everyone in America wants to see a movie soley about the Red Sox...)
It seems like Kicking and Screaming would be a better comparison right now.

Will Ferrell + May > Deuce Bigalow, David Spade and Napoleon Dynamite + April.

Sorry, I got an error page when trying to post so I didn't even know I posted once! I feel so ashamed I shall now force myself to think of Sharon's crotch. OMG my eyes are bleeding and my head is about to explode! AHHHHHHHH!
