Nice increases for Kong, Narnia and Potter, and conversely, horrible drops for Dick and Jane, Family Stone, the Ringer, and Wolf Creek
Except for Memoirs and Rumor has It, none of those estimates held well.

There was very little precedent for estimating Monday. The numbers do not mean anything other than the studios had a tough time projecting Monday.
@JMorphin: We will have to wait for BOM numbers.

Fun with Dick and Jane swung to Martin's favor, and we are going to be separated by fewer than 25 points in the yearly race, I believe.

Regarding Munich... even in theaters here where it is open, it is only playing 3 times a day. It's only 2:40 so it's not that long... it's just weird.

Thats prettier...
$120,597,410 is brilliant for KONG.
$165,135,135 is brilliant for NARNIA.
Dropped from estimates, but $4,703,210 is still nearly 5 times WOLFCREEK's Budget.
Nice for THE FAMILY STONE...i'm seeing it Tomorrow.

Those are all good numbers I suppose. King Kong is really worrying me though. Hopefully it won't drop as hard next weekend.

Glad to see both Narnia and Potter up from last wknd with the 4-day Kong has surprised me big time, I didnt expect a drop even over 40% this wknd for the three day, I was hoping it could stay flat with the 4-day, but for some reason the film has pulled an LS

If Kong and Munich can make $46m by New Years Eve, Universal will cross $1 Billion for the year joining Fox and WB

BOM has most actuals up now:
http://www.boxofficemojo.com/weekend/ch ... 51a&p=.htm
Great increases for King Kong, Narnia and Potter from the estimates.
Narnia will cross $200 million by the end of the next weekend, on track to $260+ million.
Kong will be at over $170 million by the end of the next weekend. It will cross $200 million by the MLK weekend, I suppose.

No problem.
To be honest, the only thing that worries me about Kong right now is if, like Snicket, it sheds theaters fast after Christmas. If it doesn't, I think it will be fine in the long term.

Good to see that Munich actually increased on Monday. Wolf Creek had a short life.

Thats the key I guess. Perhaps as Kong is skewing much more adult and has potential for oscar nominations - it may hold on to its theatres longer.
