Since we now have charts, it makes sense to have a new and improved release schedule. I'll edit in the rest of December and also the 2006 films as soon as I can, and as far as updates go, Libs, Zingy, Xia, etc..., don't feel you have to wait on me if a change needs made, I won't be offended that I didn't get to do it, just post in the thread that it was updated if you can.

I'm really looking forward to seeing 'Shopgirl' this coming weekend.

I'll tell you, Warner Bros. should have moved up Syriana a week. Why is December 9th so crowded (with what could realistically be all 5 Best Picture nominees this year), yet the weekend before, Aeon Flux basically has nothing going up against it, like competing studios are viewing it like it's Revenge of the Sith or something like that and are staying away from it?

The post-Thanksgiving weekend is traditionally a really really slow and lame weekend. Most studios shy away from it.

Yeah, last year the only new release was Closer on less then 400 screens, although then again, that made 7.7 million and had a $16,000 PTA. Still, the closer to Christmas, the better the legs, so I guess that's also a factor.

Guys, I am so sorry for not updating my old release schedule. I was extremely busy with my freshman year in high school, homecoming, and balancing the forum & my social life. I love the new chart Maverick!

I've updated the schedule for the rest of the year, although I haven't added movies such as The White Countess. I probably will, and I will be getting to work on doing the 2006 schedule, too.

THE NEW WORLD goes wide on a Sunday? Odd.

That's Christmas Day. Studios choose to open some/many movies (or going wide) on Christmas Day regardless which day it falls on (Aviator, Fat Albert, Darkness, and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou all did that last year), something I never quite understood, especially when Christmas fell on a Saturday like last year or Sunday.

I thought it was strange, too, but that is how BOM is listing it as of now.

It actually goes wide on January 15th. No reason for it, as far as I can see.

Oops... I should've specified, I meant the January date for it's nationwide expansion. I know it's being released on a Sunday in limited release because it's Christmas Day.

The predictions for Christmas weekend will be really messed up. Some movies are 5-day; some are 3-day; and some are 1-day. Or it would 6-4-2 if they decide to include the Monday after Christmas.

Isn't it odd for films to be coming out on the Friday of Christmas weekend? Doesn't it usually tend to be the Wednesday before or exactly Christmas Day?

The New World is released on the 13th (wide).

It's initial release is on Sunday (Christmas).

As soon as I get confirmation from one more site, I'll change it. It makes sense that it opens on the 13th, though.

I also want to take a minute to ask for help again with this thread. It sure would take the pressure off me if I didn't have to do it myself. I can handle doing all the updates if I have to, but if you guys could let me know when the non rated films get their ratings and when release dates are changed, etc.., I'd appreciate it. Libs, you've always been on top of that stuff (the release dates and changes), so I'm counting on you to make sure I don't have a screwed up thread.

My goal for this thread is simple. I want it to be the best and most comprehensive release date schedule on the net. The kind that other sites would look to when wanting to know what's coming up and what it's box office chances are like. I can't do it alone, though, I can just do the biggest part of maintaining it.

I'm working on March of 2006 now. For the 2006 films, I'm only listing what are said to be wide releases, so the other films that haven't been added yet will have to be eventually.
