Mark, any information about production budget? I wrote about the movie in my blog and box office reports. People are very interested. I think there is a fair chance that one of our distributors will pick it up.

So Göhte is looking to increase this weekend. 6+ million admissions is happening. I wouldn't even be surrpised if it became the biggest German flms since (T)Raumschiff Surprise.

Should be around €5.5m-€6m...

GÖHTE will have the third biggest 2nd weekend by a German movie of all-time...

Okay, I'm calling it now - 9 million admissions.

Well, it is not my official projection, but a call has to be gusty. My conservative projection would put it at 7 million. So, yeah, really. It will play through Christmas. Most people I know really want to see it, even those who never watch German films. WoM is great, the marketing is great. And the fact that it looks at such a healthy increase is pointing towards a very very long life. Türkisch für Anfänger has shown how well it could co-exist with The Hunger Games and this will co-exist with Catching Fire just as well.

So, yeah, put me down for 9 million admissions. You've got doubts?

Well, it's a gutsy call and for me it's too early to tell... It'll be at 2.2m admissions today and adding another 6.8m admissions is a long, long way...

We'll see. The 11 million admissions call for Avatar also paid off when it seemed so far away (after having lowballed it several weeks in a row)

Türkisch für Anfänger II is going to be BIG. Might double the predecessor's numbers.

Seventh place for Escape Plan, lol. That's bad. So much for Germany being one of the top Stallone fan countries. I think that now belongs to China, Malaysia etc.

Yeah, the thing is that the young audiences really don't care about Stallone here anymore. And by young I even mean people my age (25-30). I don't know a single person, who'll go and see Escape Plan in theatres.

Also, there has been a little controversy about Arnie's voice here as they replaced the usual person, who dubs Arnie in order for him and Sly to have different voices.

Could he put on a more German accent for Arnie and keep a more American accent for Sly?

I don't know, I have seen the film in its original version.

That aside, it doesn't work like this at all. The language is just accent-free German. There are no American accents in German and obviously no German accents. What the guy did with The Expendables 2 (and, ironically, in the trailer for Escape Plan) was just different intonations. The studio thought that as long as they don'thave too many scenes together, it's fine, but Escape Plan was too much, so they hired another guy.

Looks like Catching Fire got over 1.18 million admissions over the weekend - 2nd-iggest opening weekend of the year. Huge numbers.

So awesome. I'm quite surprised about this number. I expected around 700,000 adm.

I hope the Austrian numbers are similar.
