Is is still too early to make projections? I'll be seeing the three openers in about 90 minutes, starting with Freedomland.

I almost want Yahoo to not work for one week.

Not going against the amazing work you guys do here, but I kind of enjoyed it when there was more mystery with the numbers.

Something seems wrong. I find it impossible that all the openers will make less than $10 million this weekend.

I feel like rating all of them just to make xiayun feel better. Is it at all possible that The Pink Panther, Final Destination 3, and Curious George could again be the top three movies this weekend?

Yeah, that will make Reel Source laugh all the way to the bank.

Easy solution Libs, don't come in this thread ;). I kinda don't want to anymore either.

That's because it probably is.

Come on now, guys. Because the reviews aren't coming in at that steady of a pace every movie is doomed?

Give it some time.

Or realize that Yahoo is probably just off this week.

Post Just as a heads up.....
In my visits to half a dozen theatres today, EIGHT BELOW was doing about on compare with HOODWINKED's
Friday as of 3PM PST. FREEDOMLAND about 1/3rd the business of EIGHT BELOW. Didn't get a chance
to get DATE MOVIE info numbers, but it wasn't setting the world on fire, yet, anyway.

I think the next update should be large as well. It seems to be a bit shy of where it should be after 3 slow hours. Could Freedomland really have only 20 in 4 hours?

Now there we go!

Still sucks for Freedomland. 8 Below is picking up and should be able to reach 4m Friday IMO. DM should as well.

The thing that shocked me the most, is that this is Snow Dogs, but with GOOD reviews. Its the best reviewed movie of the week (72% fresh at RT). I NEVER would have expected it to be that well received. It seems like this could have quite a solid run.

I'm not too surprised that Eight Below had great reviews. I mean, it's not really another Snow Dogs, which was a comedy. It's an inspirational survival flick, really.

Oh, and great jump for Date Movie.

Although the crowd reports are not quite encouraging...

I'm thinking $4m for Date Movie, $4.5m for Eight Below, and $1.5m for Freedomland.

Nice, I think 8 Below might even have a slight chance at 5m.

Remember Harold and Kumar, The Girl Next Door, Waiting, Grandma's Boy.... I'm not sure of the exact ratio, but I'm sure it will be high.
