So, 8m tickets would translate to about $69m... WOW!

Maybe you got me wrong - I'm not saying that HP5 will do as much as HP4, I'm just saying the release day (Wednesday opening - Midnight Previews Tuesday night) is the same... Right now I'm thinking 6.5m tix...

Boys, it's summertime... Bad weather will help, but what if it's sunny? And two weeks later there's THE SIMPSONS (5m tix) and another week later its TRANSFORMERS (3,5m tix)...

No way this will be as low as Harry Potter 3 even with the extra competition.....

I think Harry Potter will hurt Simpsons more than the other way around....i'm hoping Simpsons gets crushed between the above two movies

I agree with Mark. I remember that Pokemon (at its peak) managed 1,000,000+ admissions opening weekend in Germany back in 2000 and The Simpsons is WAY bigger overall. I don't now a single person in my age group who won't see it. If any film can dethrone Potter this year, it'll be The Simpsons, though I don't count on that happening. I expect a 1,500,000+ admissions opening for it.
Transformers has been receiving decent reactions and many want to see it so a 3+ million admissions finish is very likely too.

I am not German but I don't think it will be at POA levels. What did Pirates do in German? I bet it matches that at worse.

Hahah, I will kill someone if Simpsons ends up topping Harry Potter....

Well it's the cool thing to do isn't it, those who really don't care about it anymore or hardly watch the TV series...when they see the trailer they go "ooh, that's so cool and kick arse" with the lame o jokes...

During Transformers, they showed the new Harry Potter trailer......it's pretty similar to the ones on the net, though I think they showed some extra scenes.
The response was decent...Transformers and Potter are so going to rule July
