If those are real estimates, Rocky is much lower then expected.

Pretty much mostly educated guesses based off of MTC's #
i.e. generally it's 4.5-5x, but at that time it was still really early, so bumped it up to 6x for national.
This is the partial EDI#'s that generally wind up being 70-80% for the Top 10. CRSGF is from 35. LFIJM is from 4. DRMGL 2.

What was the reaction to The Simpsons trailer and for whoever else saw it in theaters.

Yes, with most prints of NATM...It was however not attatched to the print I saw.
Friday, December 22 - AMC Covina 30
We Are Marshall - 3:05pm
150 Seater - 30 people
Trailers:
Live Free or Die Hard
Freedom Writers
Stomp The Yard
Miss Potter
Bridge to Terabithia
The Astronaut Farmer
Fred Claus
Best Reactions: Umm, none. (Fred Claus did get laughs)
I loved this movie. It wasn't as much of a football movie as I expected but I found myself really engaged in the lives of the townspeople and caring about them.
Night At The Museum - 8:30pm
475 Seater - 60-70%
Trailers:
Spider-Man 3
The Simpsons Movie
Evan Almighty
The Last Mimzy (got a big ol' "WTF?" from me, but it was intriguing)
Ocean's Thirteen
Best reactions: SM3 had silence (good); SM and EA had laughs
Not so great of a movie...pretty lame actually. It had it's funny parts but was generally quite sucky.

Also, I think it is stupid how 20th Century Fox is marketing like crazy that you can see the FF2 trailer with NATM...I've only seen one report where a person saw the trailer with the movie. I should sue.

Believe it or not, there was a smattering of applause halfway through The Simpson Movies' trailer (once it's revealed it is, in fact, The Simpsons Movie) and the "Ready... ready... ready..." hammer gags received quite a few laughs.

Night at the Museum - 12/23/06 7:15pm showing 100% full (350-seat auditorium)
TRAILERS
Transformers (lots of talk)
The Last Mimzy (silent)
Ocean's Thirteen (lots of talk)
Happily N'Ever After (laughs)
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (lots of talk)
The Simpsons Movie (lots of talk)
Not bad at all....hard to believe it came from the director of Cheaper by the Dozen and The Pink Panther. It was definitely a crowd pleaser as there were a ton of laughs throughout the film and clapping at the end.
Only other sellout was The Good Shepherd at 7:00.

That is freakin' nuts.
It's just strange that Paramount/Dreamworks allocated so little to our locations for 12/25 when we are like the poster children for the sites that will rock for it. We easily could have used a full third screen. I'm guessing they didn't want to sacrifice Charlotte's Web.

Crazy (but not entirely unexpected) advance sales for Dreamgirls.
Is there any chance it could pull a mini (and I stress the word mini) Borat on 850 theaters?

trust me i was really upset that we didnt get 3 prints...i called and had a nice long talk with_____ I was told with only 16 screens there was to much "high grossing" product we had to keep and from what I was told Charlotte can NOT be canceled for any interlocks period...
so we are stuck in a hard place with no outs for a huge day and possible #1 in the country

It would have to do over $15,000 per theater and I highly doubt that. NATM will be #1.

Then again, like Borat, I'm sure it's only in markets where the PTA is expected to be great. But yeah, I doubt it'll top Museum, which should make around $10M.

I expect Museum to be closer to $11 or $12, and there is almost no way, absolutely no way, that Dreamgirls does that much.
Maybe $6 million (I think that is a major stretch myself)...

Question: Do all theaters not have shows after 8 PM? All Regal and Century theaters in Portland only played movies until then.

The theater I went to (Animosity Reign's theater) had its last showings around 7:30 I think.
