the dukes of hazzard isnt a bad movie, i liked it alot! a sound of thunder...isnt that from like, 2003? that aisde, its ignoring the fact that almost all of their big movies in the past 12 months have been much better then expected. batman is an aobvious one, but charlie, potter 4, v for vendetta, were both way better then most expected. anybody think charlie would get a 3.7 multiplier?

SHYAMALAN BLASTS DISNEY EXECS IN NEW BOOK Friday, June 23 2006 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A new book, The Man Who Heard Voices: Or, How M. Night Shyamalan Risked His Career on a Fairy Tale, due to be published on July 20, will describe director Shyamalan's conflict with Disney studio executives and his decision to leave the company that had produced his successfully thrillers, beginning with 1999's The Sixth Sense, the Los Angeles Times reported today (Friday). The book, by Sports Illustrated writer Michael Bamberger, is reportedly particularly tough on Disney production President Nina Jacobson, quoting Shyamalan as saying that he "had witnessed the decay of her creative vision right before his own wide-open eyes." Later Shyamalan says that over the years, he had concluded that Disney "no longer valued individualism ... no longer valued fighters." Eventually he left the studio after Jacobson and others assailed his script for Lady in the Water, which was eventually produced by Warner Bros. and is due to be released on July 21.
The main reason now I'll probably see this film is to see why Disney didn't want to distribute it in the first place.

excel, considering that you act like an unofficial representative of Warner Bros. anyways, I'm not surprised that you think all their films are of high quality.

Just because you liked it doesn't make it of good quality.
The studio isn't even the issue here. Just because WB has made good films doesn't mean this one will be good also. Doesn't work like that.

Just cause you enjoyed a certain movie doesnt mean that was the general consensus.
Anyways I dont think it means shite that Disney wasnt so fond of the script, their complaints from another article seemed stupid, but you never know what really went down. It's not like they told him to get the stepping, they gave him the go ahead, but he felt they werent supporting him because of what they thought of the film.

TV Spot #4 http://media.themoviebox.net/db/0070.php
#3 with the old lady doing the voice over is the best one, this was pretty good but not much different then 1 and 2.

I feel like of all the marketing I've seen, #4 is the only one that could appeal to mainstream audiences and at the same time honestly sell the movie for what it is.

yeah that last TV spot I thought was very good. I am hopping for more like that. Honestly, this is going to depend more on quality. If it turns out to be a great movie than it will have great legs if it turns out another village it will make less than 75 million.

excel wrote: looking good...40/150. Heh, I only wish it could make that much, but ya never know. I think WB waiting a little late to market the film heavily due to SR, but I think will be seeing a tremendous amount of marketing for this film from here on out, supposedly it's marketing budget is quite big.

ive actually seen quite a few tv ads. remember, this has LOW EXPECTATIONS and is supposably great ala sixth sense situation.
Couldnt be in a better posistion to break out.
