Ah, I see... Yeah, forgot to link the forecast over there...
But if you check the news, you'll find the current "trend" based on Thursday & Friday sales...

The Hangover II...what the hell?
Do you think 4,000,000+ admissions will happen, mark?

 Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
Including yesterday's holiday H2 is at approximately 2.45m... Don't know about 4m yet, but 3.5m is guaranteed...
And the weather looks to be very cinema friendly over the next weekend, and the weekend after is helped by a holiday - so 4m cannot be ruled out...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread - Another great hold for Hango
So The Hangover II looks to drop less than 35% again and is currently on course to around 475,000 admissions in its third weekend, around the same number as Pirates had in its third weekend as well.
That's absolutely amazing. It should be #3 of the year by the end of its third weekend and is now extremely likely to make it to 4,000,000 admissions, making it the first US live action comedy to reach this mark since...Hitch!

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread - Weekend Estimates
Weekend Estimates:
1. Kung Fu Panda 2 - 580,000 admissions (including previews) 2. The Hangover: Part II - 450,000 admissions 3. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides - 200,000 admissions 4. Something Borrowed - 120,000 admissions (including previews) 4. X-Men: First Class - 120,000 admissions
Tree of Life - 60,000 admissions
Strong opening for Kung Fu Panda 2 which outopened the first film in admissions even. We have got 2+ million admissions locked up here.
Terrific for The Hangover: Part II which became the third movie this year to cross the blockbuster mark of 3 million admissions in Germany and is currently #3 of the year here. It certainly looks to me like 4,000,000 will fall eventually.
Pirates' legs are really unexpectedly strong. While it will, inevitably, end up below the other three films in admissions, its performance is still not worse than expected, especially after its opening. It just crossed 4,000,000 admissions and will soon become #1 of the year. It won#t pass 5 million, but should get prertty close to it.
Disappointing for X-Men, really disappointing.
Tree of Life opened with a great PTA.

Comic book adaptations haters mostly.
I am wondering if The Dark Knight Rises could become the first comic book adaptation since Spider-Man 3 to cross 3,000,000 admissions here.

Weekend Estimates:
1. Bad Teacher - 550,000 admissions (including previews) 2. Kung Fu Panda 2 - 330,000 admissions 3. The Hangover: Part II - 270,000 admissions 4. Werner - Eiskalt - 165,000 admissions (including previews) 5. Mr. Popper's Penguins - 140,000 admissions 6. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides - 125,000 admissions 7. Really big weekend. Kung Fu Panda 2 passed 1 million admissions in 11 days. The Hangover: Part II passed 3.5 million admissions, well on course to 4+ million admissions. Bad Teacher's opening is tremendous.

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread - Bad Teacher opens HUGE
Bad Teacher's opening is shocking to me, but then again, the trailer is terrific and was played in front of pretty much every single big movie I have seen over the past few months (X-Men, Pirates, The Hangover II). Unless the weather kills it, I see 1.7+ million admissions total for it.

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread - TF3 looking at big numbers
TF3 looks like it could get 900,000 admissions in five days, besting the openings of the previous two films. I wonder if it can become this year's 8th 2+ million admissions film (assuming that Harry Potter will get there before it). This year is already shaping up to be much better in Germany than last year. Last year we had only nine 2+ million admissions films over the whole year, we could reach 10 this year before the end of August.

Terrific for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. No way 2 million admissions isn't happening now.

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread - TF3 looking at big numbers
I already see that in Germany it has already made almost 70% of TF2 total of 20 million US.
I think it should go to 30 million or so.

I think it should go to 30 million or so. In Euros: TF1: 10.3m total TF2: 14.1m total TF3: 10.5m 5 days

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread - TF3 looking at big numbers
Umm the share is no surprise. Most theatres around me don't give the 2D option whatsoever. In fact there is no 2D showing in either Bonn or Cologne as far as I know.
