That's terrific. So it culd be close to 1.5 million admissions by the end of the weekend.

I think it's going to rise next weekend thanks to great WOM and theater-friendly weather in Austria.

inception should have a great OS week. cine-directors are predicting 30% weekly drop this week for france. I see its OS total @250M+ as of this sunday.

I think that should be possible too Keyser. Looking at the strong weekdays that Inception is getting in various territories, combined with the predicted good weekend holds, I think by Sunday the OS gross should be around 250M.

Grown Ups seems to be off to a very good start.

Yep, can't tell right now wether GU or INCEPTION will be No. 1 this weekend. GU has the chance to become Sandler's biggest opener ever (until now ZOHAN with 517,019 admissions)...

Grown Ups has a capacity issue. At my theatre it is playing at the 5th-biggest screen only (out of 11 screens). Inception has the two biggest ones.


Anyway, according to mark's projections, Inception is looking at around 550,000 admissions this weekend whioch is beyond my best expectations. That'd mean a drop of less than 12% from its opening weekend and well over 1.5 million admissions after the second weekend. That would also make 3,000,000 pretty much a lock.

A drop of less than 12%? That's amazing . That is an Avatar-like hold for Germany.

My theatre just added another screen for Grown Ups. It now has Inception playing on three screens and Grown Ups on two tonight (11 screens in total).


The presales for The A-Team seem pretty solid too.I see an opening of at least 350,000 admissions.

Okay, now it looks very likely that GROWN UPS will beat INCEPTION this weekend and become Sandler's biggest opener ever...

The A-Team opens this weekend. Will be close for #1 between this and Inception.

We should have three movies with over 300,000 admissions this weekend.

BOM's Germany total is up-to-date, and France's total won't be any more than a million extra (it was at 14.58m admissions at BOM's last update, 14.64m now).

As expected it's a threeway race for the top spot:

The A-Team is looking at 425,000 admissions including previews.

Inception and Grown Ups are aiming at 375,000. Incveption should be close to 2.2 million admissions by the end of the weekend which is a terrific result after three weeks. It is now tracking ahead of The Dark Knight which went on to finish with 2.8 million admissions.

TS3 is still disappointing with what looks to be a 175,000 admissions weekend (for around 1.15 million after three weeks).

The Twilight Saga Eclipse will be at 3.4+ million admissions by the end of the weekend, less than 250,000 admissions away from New Moon which it will eventually pass.

Hmm, well, Knight and Day is kind of a comedy. Same for Killers.
