I don't find Howl's Moving Castle's gross that disappointing. Its PTA is lower than what Spirited Away had the first weekend, but it's also in 9 more theaters, and from people's reviews, it isn't nearly the masterpiece as Spirited Away and is probably not as accessible either. We'll see how it holds the next weekend when expanding.

But the problem is that both PTA and total weekend gross of Howl's Moving Castle aren't better than Spirited Away.

Next weekend, it will expand to 200 screens, we 'll see.

Sorry ROTS didn't top 15 million but it did have a healthy rise from T-F and F-S.

2 bad High Tension did poorly. I saw the film Friday and was disappointed with it being dubbed *that's such a no-no* but my audience liked I guess. I thought it was a decent film but I'd prefer to see films in their complete original language and Uncut of course.

Is it me, or that Monster in Law estimate too low again?

Why is New Line predicting a 40%+ drop when we know a movie hardly drops anything above 35% during this season?

That's what I thought too. It's probably underestimated by $300,000 or so.
