 Re: Minecraft OW #'s
B+ CinemaScore (A for <18). Postrack 5/5 for kids and 4/5 for parents.
Teens 35%, largest demo 18-24. Males 65-67%.
It seems this is going to get repeat viewings so could definitely make a run for $500M (3.18X multiplier). Easter should be huge for it.

 Re: Minecraft OW #'s
So in the end it will get close to the $450-$500m total domestic numbers bandied about a couple of years back before we all lost faith in it.
Insane.

It seems this is going to get repeat viewings so could definitely make a run for $500M (3.18X multiplier). Easter should be huge for it. Does it say how many were <12? Some more details from DHD: 18-24 - 43% 13-17 - 35% Other: 22% (so not clear how many <12 but likely 10-15%) Men < 25% - 54% Women < 25 - 25% Men > 25 - 13% Women > 25% - 8% Latino/Hispanic - 31% Caucasian - 46% Other - 23% Imax / PLFs - 33% 3D - 15% So 78% of the overall audience <24 so seems like more will see this now outside of the target demos. In some ways it feels like this is playing a bit like No Way Home. The in theater reactions of its core demos are playing out like End Game so this really could end up finishing with a massive total.

 Re: Minecraft OW #'s
3.37X multiplier for $550M 3.07X multiplier for $500M 2.76X multiplier for $450M 2.45X multiplier for $400M
Easter in its 3rd weekend. No family films for two months. Snow White getting rejected by moviegoers. Where this ends is anyone's guess. Based on the audience reactions so far feeling it's going to make a run for $500M+. Will give it a 3.1X multiplier as a complete guess for $505M, just as it's more teens than younger kids that drove Mario to a 3.92X multiplier.

 Re: Minecraft OW #'s
3.1 multiplier is doable. $500m is looking good.
I mean $450-475m would still be amazing but let's aim for $500m.

 Re: Minecraft OW #'s
The era of superhero films as the dominant genre is over, its gonna be Video games for the next decade. Im guessing they will make a fortnite movie soon and that will be massive aswell.

 Re: Minecraft OW #'s
March was so dismal that even with Minecraft's mega opening we are still trailing 2024 by 4.4%.
Thankfully the rest of April and May are much stronger than last year

 Re: Minecraft OW #'s
Pretty sad seeing all the reports of young people leaving messes and being obnoxious for this movie. Nothing new but given how big this is i bet many theaters are dealing with this

 Re: Minecraft OW #'s
I mean, Rocky Horror Picture Show is the same. Sucks for the employees but the movie is kind of single handedly carrying the theatre business right now so you could say it's just part of the cost of business.

 Re: Minecraft OW #'s
I think the theatre owners will overlook just about anything to get this kind of customer boost. They've been left in the lurch by the studios in Q1 so the crowds and all they entail are very welcome.

 Re: Minecraft OW #'s
Minecraft was THE video game of the 2010s. It is probably the first big event movie of Gen Alpha who are starting to grow into having a general zeitgeist as a generation
