That would be huge. It could still miss 120M with that though. I think Sunday will drop hard, partly because of football, but also because this type of movie is very much a Fri/Sat night kind of movie.

Even with football I bet Sunday drop wont be that bad. Blockbusters with this much buzz usually have a pretty nice Sunday drop.

That number is bananas but also makes total sense to me after being at the theater tonight. My 5:45 showing had a massive line before starting with a crowd that was closer to a Marvel movie than a horror flick. And when our screening got out the next screening had an even crazier line - honestly there was more pandemonium than there was the first Saturday of Guardians 2 (which I saw at the same time at the same theater).

$300+ million is happening. Booking it now.

This movie has already managed a pretty incredible Saturday drop with a category 5 hurricane still devastating parts of the world and Houston still recovering from last week. You might be right, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did have a better than expected Sunday hold. It's playing like a 4-Quadrant Event film after all.

120ish opening would need 2.5 multiplier to hit 300. The fact that numbers this big are likely, wow.

Deadline now has $46.5M

If only the movie was as good as the box office.

This opening weekend reminds me of Spider-Man on 2002. Daily numbers were mind blowing and both were expected to come in at the 70m mark which would have been a record for their respective genres. Both smashed expectations.
