TDKR has more in common with Batman Begins than with TDK. Yet TDK was much more popular. Nolan still decided to make TDKR strongly tied to BB and not that much to TDK. He completed his trilogy. That doesn't sound like a director being overconfident to me.

No he sort of had no choice after a certain someone died.

Even so, in TDKR he had a great story and concept but it got muddled down by plot devices that really were lame. Why did the revenge plot have too be soo pointlessly complicated...It served really no purpose in making the story or movie better.
The only reason I can see why Nolan did that because he thought he can just mess around with our minds and he thought everyone was going to bow down in his greatness again..


I agree on 300+ but the idea about it selling more tickets then TDKR is just plain stupid.

You know guys took very reasonable predictions for TDKR and then went absolutely nuts with them, and I hope the same does not happen with this film.


I hope he takes his time and really think this movie out so it will be like a masterpiece like Inception, rather then a very good but patchy effort like TDKR.

There is a chance but then again every movie has a chance for breakout before a trailer. Need some more information than just Nolan's name and synopsis for $300m.

This is completely different. Nolan is more know now and there is a clear 18 months before it is released with immense hype already and an unknown plot. It will surely be a let down.

Yeah, apart from Insomnia, The Dark Knight Rises and Memento , he can do no wrong.

Okay, I really enjoyed The Dark Knight Rises, but I could see some people having issues with it and you certainly wouldn't be the only one. Also, Insomnhia, is another well-made flick, but admittedly his weakest effort.

But Memento???? Are you fucking kidding?

I saw the first 10 minutes about 8 years ago and disliked it so turned it off. So, I am sort of kidding with that one because it may have turned out to be excellent.

But even still, for a director to do "no wrong", it would mean all of his movies are 100% perfection, which Nolan's movies are not. All of his movies are just ok, which is the point I was making.
