I thought the teaser was better than the full trailer.

I agree. The new trailer was dissapointing.
Overall I still think this can open to $75m for a $180-190m finish.

paramount only has one big film a year, so obviously the mareting for this will be good. i think the tv spots will be the big thing s this wont be a tie in.merchandise juggernaut, i just think come may 1st you wont be able to turn on the tube without hearing that music from a tv spot.
75/210.

Is that really Kanye's song for this movie? I mean, I like it as a Kanye West song, but as a theme for Mission: Impossible III?

This movie was poorly received in front of the Inside Man. People were laughing at Cruise, it was pretty funny. While WOTW was not Cruise-personality driven, this is, so that's going to take an effect. I thought it'd do better before, but its becoming more and more of a joke, so I'll bring it down a tad.

$52.5/$145
I don't think this series is as popular as others here do and after the shitfest that was MI2, I'd expect a general sense of apathy towards 3.

I am really not feeling it for this one. No one seems interested. Now it would be funny if it was a bomb like Stealth, but that's not possible. I don't think M:I:3 will pass $120 million. M:I:2 benefitted off the success and WOM of the first. It just looked like the cool thing at the time. I'm just not sure about the third one though.

Cruise's star-power might be fading, but it'll help none-the-less. Action movies work well in his favor as well.
I see an opening of around 55 million, and a total of 160-180.

No, it doesn't take anything away.
In 2003, X2: X-Men United opened to around $85 million. But that didn't stop The Matrix Reloaded from opening to $91 million two weeks later, despite having a similar audience.
Ice Age: The Meltdown and Mission: Impossible III are completely different, and they're a month apart.
