Other films had previews too.
Anyways, there are 2 reasons why preview showings have such high numbers:
1) The nutty fans want to see it ASAP (ditto for ROTK, Reloaded, etc.)
2) And this is more important, Thursday and Friday are workdays. It's better to watch the film at night and have a little sleep than to watch it during the workday and skip work.

Could someone enlighten me why opening day + 3-day weekend != 4-day weekend for some of the predictions?

I think it actually has a damn good shot at it, and wouldn't be surprised if it pulled it off. But I'm still not exactly sure how forgiving audiences are, at least to the extent that it could break 12K opening day, if no film really ever has. However, I do think it has a strong possibility because of how many screens it has and the number of midnight shows. I mean, this could very well have over 10,000 screens total.

Btw guys and gals, I'm keeping your predictions with decimals as well, just don't put them on chart as would ruin layout.
So DP, no worries, you're not in $150m club.

Box office from France
The film opened today here.
Broke the record for first showings in Paris with 16 277 admissions.
It took the record from Spider man 2 and his 16 141 admissions.
It's already huge.

Well, based on the fact that this is going to open in many more theaters by midnight, it will cause me to change my prediction for teh last time.
Opening Day, including midnight showings- 42.5
Weekend- 110
Total- 152.5 mill
Second weekend ( 4 day) 69.5
I expect EIII to be at about 250 mill after the end of Memorial Day.
Total- 400.1 mill OVS- 550 mill Total 950 mill
This is my final revision!!!
