Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
Do we have any ballpark on when tickets will go on sale?
No way in hell I'm missing out on the first IMAX screening in my area.

While I believe a $615m WW opening is certainly possible, I think Deadline's prediction of a $300m opening domestically is pretty silly... jesus christ. they can't be serious.

300 f***** million I don't know who they think they're fooling. That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard all day. All week.

Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
Slow week for you.
Return of the Jedi basically adjusts to 270 OW. They're prediction is misguided because that will be so hard to do around Christmas. But hey they work in Box-Office, we can't expect more than the fundamentals from them.

Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
Seriously?????????????
You don't honestly think its opening only adjusts to 59 million? With older films you have to use adjusted PSA which is $59,200.00 In 32 years that has never been matched, even by semi wide releases. For wide releases the top 5 would be ROTJ, Jaws 2, Jurassic World, The Avengers, and Star Trek: The motion Picture (All OW Record holders)
Technically its opening adjusts differently depending on the amount of theaters you use. But if you use The Avengers which is mostly what a SW film will get, its more like 260 million.

Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
well it's ok if you don't understand.
ROTJ was without any doubt the most impressive weekend of all time and every theater capable in the US was sold out. If it was 4400 theaters it wouldn't change that. All that really changes is the legs of a film.
I mean shit, Star Wars the special editions opening is higher adjusted, 63 million.
The PSA adjustment is not a good indicator on relation to final gross of course.
