No, thanks. I should just follow my own advice from before and avoid discussion regarding this film until November 19. Because, you know, I'm just a dumb teen that is clueless about the other audiences because I have no parents, no relatives over the age of 18, and don't know one adult.

Nobody thinks you're a dumb teen. I think you're one of the smartest teens I've ever known, you just sometimes forget that there is a living breathing world of women and/or adults that go to movies. I blame it on raging hormones, which has nothing to do with intelligence, it just leads to confusing thoughts sometimes.

Either way, I'll refrain. Atleast until next Monday, when the *real* arguement begins. Heh.

Zingy, I'd be damn tempted to make another bet that you won't be able to refrain all week leading up to it's release.

I don't really care about the other people who put their "heart and soul" into the movie. That could be said about every film that is released and some still deserve to fail, like 'Get Rich or Die Tryin' and now this one. Interesting that they are music-related. I've never really minded Phoenix before this, found him a little bland, just kind of "eh..." Now that I've heard what I jerk he is, it has turned me off him completely. Kind of like what happened this past summer with Tom Cruise and his much-publicized rants and raves.
As for the source:
http://www.kqrs.com/streaming.asp
Nov. 7 broadcast
A little over 30 minutes in, right after they discuss the weekend box office.

I wouldn't want any movie I loved to fail just because the lead actor was acting like a jerk. The movie has it's own merits and should be judged on them, not according to the personal lives of the cast. This movie is excellent and does not deserve to bomb.
In regards to Phoenix, thanks for the link. He better get his attitude sorted out quickly. Press is part of the job.

BJs New Prediction:
Opening Wknd: 26.5m
Domestic Total: 212m
Multiplyer: 8.0
145m-155m befor oscar nom
35m-55m between nomination and awards
15m-25m after awards
I base my prediction on this film winning best pic because I do not think any film can beat it this year.

Not quite, as Lecter said I did predict that The Aviator would crush 300m last year, Im still wondering why it did not to this day

The TV spots seem to really be promoting the love story aspect of this movie.

Soooo. I just finished doing the front page prediction.
For fear of being as far off as I was on Broken Flowers, I actually deflated what I predicted, but put the "high" mark as what I think it will actually get.

Pretty much. I'm making certain assumptions on theatre count and quality of the film, that I shouldn't be making yet. So assuming its a well done movie, and that it opens in 2800+ theatres, I would predict my "high." But there aren't really enough reviews in, and I don't know the theatre count, so I went a bit safer when putting a number up for the main site. My last prediction didn't come in at even 50% accuracy, so I know to read my own initial responses as too high.
Here. I don't want to detract from someone else's thread, and alot of my article talks about subject matter not directly related to B.O. So I'll put the version i have now up in the cinemania thread, even though it might change for the main site if we see reviews changing or learn the theatre count or all the b.o. predictors hit me over the head with a bat to knock some sense into me.

Estmated theater count
Walk the Line - 2,900
Anybody still holding off from joining?
For anybody who was thinking that Ray Charles had anything on the man in black, Ray only opened in 2006 theaters and it's biggest expansion only reached 2474.
