I don't get the love for HP3, out of the three, it was the most boring and characterless movie. I also think the go back in time thing is just stupid....they didn't reuse it for #4-7...so really was no point.

I think they might re-release this movie to get it over 300M...5 HP films in a row that fail to top 300M doesn't look too good after all. If only JK could tell the purists to go see the movie. Does anybody know where i could contact her? HP6 to me is still on track for $300m, it's back ahead of OOTP in dailies thanks to IMAX......HP5 topped out at $292m...no reason why this can't do $8m more

 Re: HARRY POTTER 6: Half-Blood Prince (INTL.) - $638m (#38)
JAPAN - Weekend 2
Fantastic hold and gives promise to a gross north of OOTP ($80.5m) and somewhere close to HP4's $91.5. There were however no major openings this week to go against it; still, it's competing with the Pokemon 12 which is doing quite well (they normally do).
$100m is not out of the question if it registers a couple of good holds.
Hauru No Ugoku Shiro (Howl’s Moving Castle) - $44,430,337 ($11,680,683, -17%) The Matrix: Reloaded - $39,843,950 ($9,364,162, -50%) Harry Potter 1: PS - $39,308,175 ($12,325,444/¥1.515bn, -4%) Harry Potter 3: POA - $38,517,357 (¥4.2bn - $11,560,370/¥1.25bn, -14%) Bayside Shakedown 2 - $37.6m ($7,868,399, -25%) Harry Potter 2: COS - $37,308,970 ($11,362,708/ ¥1.396bn, -32%) Spiderman 3 - $36,297,112 ($4,938,209, -51%) Harry Potter 6: HBP - $36,252,874 ($6,437,473, -37.1%) Star Wars 3: ROTS - $36,189,637 ($7,243,642, -57%) Pirates Of The Caribbean 3: At World’s End - $36,147,242 ($9,614,786, -20.5%) Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi (Spirited Away) - $34,529,441 (3.3m adms. - $8,680,291, -2%) Rookies (2009) - $34,443,009 ($10,858,252, -14.5%) Pirates Of The Caribbean 2: Dead Man’s Chest - $32,435,317 ($6,105,257, -64%) Harry Potter 5: OOTP - $31,939,732 ($5,656,288, -66.6%) Lord Of The Rings: ROTK - $31,828,358 ($7,501,339, -49%) or $36,124,725 week The Da Vinci Code - $31,768,272 ($9,041,674, -20%) Ponyo On The Cliff By The Sea (2008) - $30,416,964 ($7,591,970, -21.5%) Harry Potter 4: GOF - $30,021,897 ($8,976,329, -21%)
UNITED KINGDOM - Weekend 2
It's actually doing mammothly well here in the UK, don't be deceived by the US$ gross, it's tracking as the #1 movie of all-time after 2 weekends in local pounds. The strength of the pound compared to previous years have meant that it lags Indiana Jones by US$1m, but is above in pounds by just under 6m. Huge.

Tracking really well after 2 weekends, it's opening last week was the 4th largest of all-time in US$. It edged past Pirates 3.

NEW ZEALAND - Weekend 2
Last week, HP6 opened to the 2nd largest opening of all-time (behind HP5). The two HPs and Transformers 2 now takes the Top 3 spots on the openers list, knocking down ROTK to #4.
HP6 sadly however, dropped close to 70% in its 2nd weekend and falls even further behind, now overtaken by Transformers 1 and ROTK (which jumps straight to #1 in its 2nd weekend).

 Re: HARRY POTTER 6: Half-Blood Prince (INTL.) - $681m (#33)
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/con ... 8af6dbd170The international circuit entered the dog days of summer over the weekend with "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" still on top in its third overseas frame with $42.7 million grossed from 13,200 locations in 64 markets. The take for the sixth title in Warner Bros.' multi-billion-dollar franchise dropped almost 50% from the second weekend but nonetheless moves "Prince's" foreign boxoffice tally to nearly a half-billion dollars ($492.3 million) and its worldwide total to $747.7 million. Weekend action in the U.K. was a mighty $5.1 million from 573 screens for a market cume of $66.5 million. Japan produced $5.7 million from 695 sites; cume, $50.8 million. Germany came up with $4.7 million from 1,373 locations for a cume of $48.2 million, while France generated $4.6 million from 750 sites for a cume of $40.3 million. 492,3 mln.

HP5 is catching up. Difference between it and HP6 is down from 51m to 38m.

Dropped just less than 50%...at least it's stabalising. It may be able to claw back some ground next weekend...HP5 only had $25m. But the 5th week drop might be trick to emulate. Still this is on track for $650m i think.

AUSTRALIA - Full Week #3
Slowing down quite dramatically now, added only $800k from Mon-Wed. It's going to cross $40m but might struggle to pass HP1.

 Re: HARRY POTTER 6: Half-Blood Prince (INTL.) - $777.8m (#27)
Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince is at $515m going into the weekend.
HP6 added another $22m since Sunday's $493m gross. That's quite strong actually and sets up for a good drop this weekend I think. We should expect somewhere between $30-35m and a stablisation.
Ice Age 3 on the other hand is $555.2m, adding around $7m since Sunday. $600m is just about locked....though it needs to pull in even better holds if it is to pass $630m.
At the momment, seems targeted for $610-620m.

Don't forget: IA3 will get a second wind August 28th with Italy opening... (don't know how much South Korea will add August 13th though)...

LOL $630m+ it is. LOL BTW - in 5 weeks, Ice Age 3 has already grossed $38m+ in Brazil....making it the 2nd largest movie of all-time in that market behind Titanic's $67.1m. Huge gross.

It dropped 50% over the weekdays. How on earth it will suddenly have such strong legs without any boost. May be obon boost will really help japan next week other than that it will have normal boring holds.

 Re: HARRY POTTER 6: Half-Blood Prince (INTL.) - $777.8m (#27)
Quote: After three weekends as the foreign circuit's No. 1 entry, Warner Bros.' "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" slipped to second place with an estimated $22.3 million from 11,000 screens in 64 markets. Its international total stands at $541.8 million, almost double its domestic tally. Worldwide, the sixth "Harry Potter" has grossed $815.6 million, making "Prince" the 20th biggest grosser in history. HP6's lead over HP5 got smaller again from 38m to 31m. Go HP5!

After next weekend it will drop to 17-18M. I think that HP6 will finish around 630-640M and once again will be beaten OS.
