Re: *CLUB* Endgame first movie to top $1 billion domestic Although it will face tougher competition in May and June than Infinity War did, I'm optimistic it will still happen. After all, Disney can use the drive-ins from Aladdin, Toy Story 4, and Lion King to try and boost to $1B.

2 things that will help box office legs to reach $1 billion (and also boosted the huge opening):
* AMC subscription - not much must-see movies opening in next few weeks, guaranteed huge repeat viewership since not enough options for 3/wk for awhile; last year for Infinity War, Moviepass removed repeat viewings right before and AMC didn't launch yet
* Netflix effect - growth of audience from people who skipped Infinity War in theaters to wait to see it on Netflix, they now will make the effort to see Endgame during theater run, since it won't be coming to Netflix. Also, being able to catch up on all the prior Marvel movies (including especially Infinity War) on Netflix help capture casual moviegoers who otherwise would have skipped this because they didn't see the key prior movies. This group is likely less likely to rush out OW but will be persuaded by record-breaking OW.

Marvel films have become far more frontloaded than they used to be. I'd be SHOCKED if this got a 3.0 multi for the previews. $117 is the absolute max it will do today. Probably closer to $110 mil OD.

So the Preview to OD Multiplier was 2.727. And the Preview to OW Multiplier was 6.608. So I was pretty dead on. But those are the two worst numbers Marvel has ever had.
Ultron had a 2.4 multi for the OW to Total, Civil War had a 2.28 multi, and Black Panther has had a 3.4! multi.
I'd think this is headed to around a 2.5, maybe 2.6. So the final total is PROBABLY going to be around $645 mil - $671 mil. (it finished with a 2.63 total multiplier, and $679 mil) Could Endgame match IW's OD multiplier? That would be a $163.6 mil OD! With the same OW multiplier, that's a $396.5 mil OW!!! Obviously the previews are going to skew the weekend numbers. But I think it at best it's looking at a 3.0 OW-Total multiplier. And for $1 bil to happen, it would need a $370 mil OW. OK so the updated list: Preview to OD Multipliers: Avengers - 4.322 Iron Man 3 - 4.414 Age of Ultron - 3.059 Civil War - 3.020 Black Panther - 3.014 Infinity War - 2.727 Endgame - 2.612 (estimate) Preview to OW Multipliers: Avengers - 11.09 Iron Man 3 - 11.163 Age of Ultron - 6.93 Civil War - 7.166 Black Panther - 8.016 Infinity War - 6.608 Endgame - 5.833 (estimate) OW to Total Multipliers: Avengers - 3.005 Iron Man 3 - 2.349 Age of Ultron - 2.400 Civil War - 2.278 Black Panther - 3.466 Infinity War - 2.634 Endgame - 1.0 (so far) A worrying trend for the Opening Day, but obviously the bigger the fanbase, the more frontloaded they will become. Infinity War actually did great to even reach 2.634. But it didn't have ANYTHING until the fourth weekend. But then Deadpool 2 and Solo both kind of disappointed.
