 Re: May 24-27 predictions
4-day: 1. Fast & Furious 6 - $112 million 2. The Hangover Part III - $60 million ($77 million 5-day) 3. Star Trek Into Darkness - $40 million 4. Epic - $38 million 5. Iron Man 3 - $23 million 6. The Great Gatsby - $15 million
$230-240 million for the 3-day for these six sounds right. Big, big weekend up ahead.

So BTC has nailed it lately. Very very curious to see what the verdict is this week

Not feeling The Hangover 3. The buzz for Fast 6 feels so much much bigger.

Watching Fast and Furious on USA and there are tv spots pretty much every break and sometimes more than one. FUCKING insanity. I just want to watch the movie already dammit.

Yeah, I've been trying to figure out a daily breakdown that feels right, but the total numbers just feel too high - even my current prediction feels too high. WB is doing an admirable job of trying to make it feel like an event film, but I just don't think it's enough in the face of F&F6..

I'm so apathetic towards Fast & Furious 6. The only movie in the franchise I've even seen is the first one. lol

 Re: May 24-27 predictions
BTC will tell us more, but honestly from day 1 I thought it was a just a bad idea to pit theses two films against each other.
It may be action vs. comedy, but the demographics still overlap hugely. It wouldn't be that surprising for both to come in underwhelming.

 Re: May 24-27 predictions
$70M 3 day would be almost as disappointing as Star Trek Into Darkness. Not quite though, since Trek had a much higher ceiling, or so it seemed.

 Re: May 24-27 predictions
The dailies seem a bit fucked up in general, but that definitely stuck out the most. Hopefully we can develop some sort of BTC-MTC theorum soon.

So far the actuals either go between the two or (if outside the range) favor the BTC direction. And so far this is better than the RS MTC rule. Only Peeples and The Host have been exceptions.

However, the $85m prediction for STID was their Thursday predicition (based on Matinee Business), their Monday prediction was $90m... (still by far the lowest prediction by the professionals)
