It wasn't meant for Pixar movies in general......nevermind no point reasoning with you.

I know it wasn't, but you cannot ignore the fact that Monster's University is a Pixar movie, and a monster movie, and a sequel, and the first did amazingly well (and is loved by millions), so why would the second all-of-a-sudden be this scary movie that kids are so afraid of?

And yes, you're correct, there's no reasoning with me when the person who is trying to reason is clearly lacking sense.

Yes, it is a prequel, forgot, but the connection to the first movie is the same. I am 100% sure that children expecting a sequel will not be frightened when realising it is ACTUALLY a prequel. They will be not scared, either way.

Looks like CROODS' 2nd weekend drop will be miniscule in Germany...

Pretty good hold on paper but I would like to know how many markets did it expand this weekend and what is the share of holdovers.

Don't know about the other markets, but it looks like Germany went from 356,978 admissions to around 360,000 2nd weekend (judging by the first 3 days of the 4 day weekend)

It was supposed to expand in 19 markets including Australia this weekend so overall its a good but not great number IMO. It could have stayed flat though majority of these 19 markets could be small markets.

It's a great number !
Last weekend included very strong previews in Russia($4.5m),México($4m) and Uk($3m)!

Yes then this weekend could have included previews from rest of the 19 markets :P

I am not saying its bad but it could have stayed flat over the weekend, perhaps I am expecting too much from this movie :P

It did increase over last weekend (previews excluded), and it's not like this weekend it opened in many major markets. Even a blind person would see it's a great hold.

As I said I might be expecting too much cause its now out in about 60 markets so I thought it could have done another $60m specially with Australia opening. Maybe I was wrong cause I didn't remember it was THAT big over previews (didn't read it the articles last week).

Based on the data you guys are suggesting I'd change by sentence, its a GREAT hold :P

Should do $350-400 million overseas. This is a huge hit. DreamWorks has got a new franchise. It could be their Ice Age on a smaller scale.

Yep the reception is quite good IMO and then this has so many things similar to Ice Age. Stone Age ending and Family angles are basically a straight rip-off of Ice Age.

Germany:
356,978 1st weekend
370,176 2nd weekend
375,000 3rd weekend (judging by Thursday sales)

Wow! Its going to increase over third weekend. That's surprising. Is that like a common trend in Germany for movies to see increases later in their run?

Actually, it can be quite common. just last week DJANGO UNCHAINED increased by 16 % in its 11th week and re-entered the Top Ten. Most times the reason for increases are Holidays or a worsening of weather conditions...
