Will this get like 400 million overseas?

I think if IM2 can get 300 million I think this can get more due to 3D?

http://www.deadline.com/2012/04/marvels ... ore-262113

The Avengers gets the 2nd largest Opening day ever in Australia..

More then Triples IM2 opening day in Australia

6 million vs 1.8 million.

I think I answered my own question...

500m+ fo sho, 3D forever :zonks:

Why all the hate for Potter? And really neither super hero movie will do Potter numbers OS, especially in Europe.

I don't think it's Potter hate. Everyone just wants to see some big numbers.

I'm not sure about $500 million for The Avengers, but $400 million is looking pretty good right now based on these first day results.

Based on the fact IM2 got 300 million on much smaller numbers from markets like Australia.

I think with 3D it has sights to well over 400 million.

I think the 3D will lead to a big increase in every single market even in Europe...

Umm, I think $450+ million is nearly locked for The Avengers based on inflation and 3D bonus alone!

The average weekend prediction for Germany is 401,086 admissions (=$5m), but it seems a bit low to me... My prediction is 550,000 (=$7m)...

Post Re: The Avengers (INTL.)
"In its overseas debut yesterday, The Avengers punched up a terrific $17.1 million from 10 countries. That gross includes $6.2 million in Australia (the second highest opening day of all time), $3.7 million in Italy, $2.9 million in France, $1.3 million in Taiwan (the highest opening day of all time), and $0.8 million in New Zealand (again, the highest opening day of all time). Lucrative markets like England, China, and Russia are still waiting to see the film."
http://insidemovies.ew.com/2012/04/26/a ... nd-record/

Comparison to totals for IM2...
3.7 million opening day vs 9 million gross total for IM2 in Italy
3 million opening day vs 20 million total for IM2 in France
6 million opening day vs 22 million total for IM2 in Australia
1.3 million opening day vs 4 million total for IM2 in Taiwan
0.8 million opening day vs 2.7 million total for IM2 in NZ

Also expect the Latin American markets to go berserk as they love superhero films...

Well guys, if this keeps admissions of past superhero films and increases like a few % and add in 3D...
It automatically means bigger grosses.
Look at TF3 in many European Markets..

Expect massive increases in grosses from emerging markets...

Just came back from the 8.30pm screening - what a crowd pleaser! There was lots of laughter, applause during and at the end of the movie - that's very rare in my hometown...

I like the reports about it being a crowd pleasing film.

WIth the lack of big competition for like 3+ weeks in North America, it will get some good legs.
