 Re: June 17-19 Predictions
Haven't penguins gone out of style?
I like Jim Carrey but the movie looks so 90s type of humour.
I think an OW in the high teens is likely or at most something like 24m.

^ Monte Carlo looks low. It would be nice if Bad Teacher and Larry Crowne could actually hit those numbers.

Yeah, Monte Carlo should do better than that. Selena Gomez is pretty popular.

That's quite a plunge for Penguins, which is generally a bad sign, right?

 Re: June 17-19 Predictions
Looks like the lowballing on Penguins wasn't so far fetched afterall. Carrey's name isn't nearly as strong as it used to be and last time I checked his last so called family flick was severly overestimated from early tracking aswell.

Carrey is bound to have a family miss eventually. Wasn't too smart to schedule this right before Cars 2.

Gomez has her fans. I would say she is more popular than Miley Cyrus right now, of course her popularity has plummeted.

 Re: June 17-19 Predictions
I always forget who Selena Gomez is. I can vaguely picture her face, but I couldn't tell you anything she's been in (movie, TV show) or any song titles. Although according to Libs one is called "Who Says."
Strange to hear she's more popular than Miley Cyrus.

Strange to hear she's more popular than Miley Cyrus. Well Miley has begun pulling a Britney Spears so that is why. I don't think Gomez is the most popular actress her age. I think Miranda Cosgrove is more popular.

This was posted at BOM. Comparison between TF3 and Pirates 4 are interesting. TF3 is doing worse. Chewy: The Worst Avenger wrote: For a comparison here's Thor on 4/28 versus GL Today

 Re: June 17-19 Predictions
I wouldn't be shocked, the last film was hated and the marketing hasn't been very good so far. However, that could improve in the coming weeks.

 Re: June 17-19 Predictions
I wouldn't worry about Transformers. People thought that Transformers 2 was going to disappoint literally up until the first midnight numbers came out because the marketing wasn't strong and awareness/hype was supposedly low. Look what happened.

Strange to hear she's more popular than Miley Cyrus. You can also remember her as the possible object of hatred for millions of 12 year old girls since she's dating the Biebs.

Look what happened. There is a big difference in WOM between 1st and 2nd films. Also we have seen what 3D does to sequels. Especially ones coming in with meh WOM.

 Re: June 17-19 Predictions
Penguins is like Prince Caspian's release all over again. Seems like the perfect movie to open over the winter holidays, not June! Bad release date on the studio's part...

 Re: June 17-19 Predictions
Green Lantern is giving off a Hellboy vibe imo and feels more like a B comic book movie rather than an event film. I think this is set for a $30's opening but if buzz builds could get low $40's.
