It has sold out for 9PM July 18 at Jordan's Imax at Reading, MA(I used to live in NH until last month and this was an awesome theater). Link for the theater is .http://www.jordansimax.live.terabyte.co.nz/

The other one at Natick Ma, has both the thursday midnight and Friday 9PM sold out.

When did SM3 start selling out? Did it sell out?

No idea, but movietickets has already reported that, at the 21 days to release mark, tdk has sold 8 times as many tickets as spidey 3.

Yuh. That just tells me that SM3 was less of a fanboy film than TDK will be.

Maybe.

AMC at SF have also sold out the midnights. What is impressive is that it is selling out across the country and is not limited to big cities. Bat loonies are just about everywhere.

But to reach ROTS levels(which was playing in almost every screen in the multiplex), it has to start selling out in conventional theaters soon. Since there is 2 1/2 weeks to go plus all the sellout news would help in selling even more.

With this much hype and anticipation, I'm about 90% sure there will be midnight shows in my area... which has me psyched.

This is the only film left this summer I will really watch.

I have seen only IM, Indy and Wall-E, so far.

Nothing else looks decent.

Manny, that's a bold statement. There have been plenty of Quality films this summer, and more to come...

Anyhow, Kevin Smith just wrote on his blog that he saw The Dark Night, and calls it the Godfather II of comic films, nothing short of a masterpiece, clocking in at almost 3 hours, and fueling more Oscar buzz for Ledger. I don't see how this won't have a 90%+ RT rating at this point, which could really sway some fence-sitters into seeing it.. for the first time I am thinking 300 million is actually in play for it

Post Re: The Dark Knight pre-sales and sellout watch
I really pick and choose films really carefully after the atrocity I faced last May. :funny:

I like the fact TDK is long. I am of tired of stupid short comic book films (apart from BB and X-Men 2) that do not have any real acting or storyline and just stupid special effects.

I heard this is like a crime epic and imo that helps its chances at any oscar or critical praise. Great effects alone do not make audiences go wow or cool. It is great acting and the way scenes are shot and look that make audiences go wow.

In Godfather part 2 when they had the hearing and the guy was about to rat out the family, but the brought in his brother from Italy, and when they stared at each other.
The tension and the emotion in that scene, OMG!!!!
I was like Wow and cool and many others think so. Imo a billion dollars of special effects cannot replicate things like that.

I think this will get a multiplier of 2.7 for sure. The film looks to be one of the best comic book films in a long time and IM was able to get a multiplier of 3.

At this point, I think it's a very safe bet that this will win the year.
