Ok, the entire 2006 schedule is now up, but it's obviously not complete yet.

Again, it'll be very appreciated if you guys could let me know when the non rated movies get their ratings and when the few untitled films get named.

If you know of anything that has a set release date that's not listed on this schedule, let me know. BOM didn't have Casino Royale listed, and that's a Nov. 17th release, so I added it. I'm sure there are more that BOM is slacking on.

Also, in December of 2006, there's a film called The Pursuit of Happyness. That spelling is the way the movie spells it, not a misspelled word from me.

I think I read at Comingsoon.net, that V for Vendetta is R-rated.

FREEDOMLAND out of Oscar contention. Sony moves it to Feb 17. (wide)

Wow, without FREEDOMLAND and ALL THE KING'S MEAN, doesn't this leave MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA as Sony's last major Oscar chance, barring a surprise wave of acclaim and popularity for RENT?

Not sure why more people aren't considering Rent as a possible Oscar contender...most of them think The Producers is a candidate, and Rent has a chance at being more dramatic.

2006 looks kind of boring. Sure, we have X-Men 3, PoTC 2, Scary Movie 4, Silent Hill, The Grudge 2, Saw 3 (I'm sure it'll be announced sometime soon for October 27th), and the TCM prequel, but from what's on that list right now, it looks boring.

Resident Evil 3 likely won't come out until the spring of 2007. I believe they haven't even finished writing it yet.

Filming starts in January in Australia. So September is still ago, they don't want to ruin it. Sony is already clogged up with horror pics.

Milla Jovovich returns. HOUSE's Omar Epps joins the cast.

It'll probably do a lot better than it would have done during Christmas (even though it's now being released on Superbowl weekend, meaning a huge Sunday drop), but still. I don't want to wait. Heh.

Does this mean that Freedomland is being released wide in February and is still being released limited in December, or did they just move it to 2006. Not clear on that.

Ok, thanks, guys, it's all updated.

A little strange for Hostel to move to the same release date in February as When a Stranger Calls. It could have picked any date at this point, and you'd think it would have picked one where another movie that'll take some of it's audience away wasn't opening.

Hostel's new date makes alot more sense than opening near Christmas when horror rarely does well. Darkness did decently but was helped by being PG-13 (People really seem to go to movies with their family during the Holidays moreso than any other time of the year).

When I get a little bit of time to do it, I'm also going to add a column listing the runtimes like this:

[table][row color=#FF0000][col color=#FF0000]Film Title[col color=#FF0000]Studio/Distributer[col color=#FF0000]Genre[col color=#FF0000]Rating[col color=#FF0000]Release[col color=#FF0000]Time

[row][col]Shop Girl[col]20th Century Fox/Buena Vista[col]Romantic Comedy[col]R[col]500[col]1:44[/table]

I'll just go with what yahoo has.

Hmm... Hostel changed its release date twice in one day. The Hostel website confirms the December 21 release date. I think that's a terrible release date considering that the 21st is a Wednesday and horror isn't big in December anyways.
