It looks very unappealing from the portions I've seen. The Christian media is all over it though about its supposed allegorical connections. Could be another Narnia-esque appeal (though not as popular I imagine). what connections perhaps I havent read the books with a full understanding If I remember correctly the book was written by a Christian teenager, so Christian media organizations are hailing this as the next big thing.
lol.

This is the first I've heard of this movie. I read some of the book during a boring day in Barnes & Noble, recognizing the title as something I'd read about in a magazine. It was terrible!

I haven't seen any crowd reports with an Eragon trailer. Has anyone else?

I hope this is not another of those kiddy stories, like Narnia and Potter. But given that it's coming from a kid, the odds are low. Meh, why don't they do fantasy for us grownups?

Without any footage or knowledge about this film, other than the fact that it's a fantasy film or something, I'm starting to sense that this will be that big film of the winter, along with Charlotte's Web. It's a $200m+ total contender.

I am becoming more and more convinced that this will do $200+ million because fantasy is in right now and December is rather empty. Charlotte's Web just doesn't look like a $200+ million grosser... Unless this sucks hard, it should make it.

Color me still doubtful. Charlotte's Web I think will have more buzz come December.
Opening: 36.4
Total: 150.7 (4.14)

Well one thing for sure, it doesnt look as tame or light as Narnia, it should fall between Harry Potter and LOTR in terms of being dark. But yes Im almost of thinking of hiking my predictions all the way from my original 200 into 250 million

Definitely under Narnia, because it's not as well known, but I see $200 million+ for this movie. It should attract the general audiences like Narnia did.

If Fox really felt they had a $200+ million wide appeal contender in their hands would they slot a CGI heavy big star fantasy vehicle NIGHT AT THE MUESEUM the very next week? No matter how good or bad that looks?
Also licensee support for it is on the very soft side.
I have heard they at least *had* plans for a 7 character poster set which if it happens would be extremely impressive.

It'll be big. I see top 3 of the year material.
It looks darker than Narnia to me, but I don't think that'll hurt it much. There was a lot of people turned off by Narnia because of how fairy and young it looked, this will pick up that audience.

I could definitely see over $200 million now. Fantasy is in right now, and this will fill the void left by LOTR, since Narnia appeals to children too much. Could be the big hit of the winter.

I'm doubtful this movie can crack $200m....the production looks average and there's hardly any buzz surrounding it.
Narnia, Potter and Rings are the biggest you gonna get in fantasy....nothing touches those 3......this one looks to follow Lemony Snickets IMO.
Happy Feet and Charlottes Web should easily dominate November and December.
Prediction: $35m/$130m

Have to agree with Archangel here, $150 million tops is what I'm thinking, though I could see it failing to even hit that right now.
