Post Re: Derby Game Discussion Thread
Managed to rank in the top 100, and thankfully the yearly rank is in the Top 50 after missing the last game. I think Top 10 can happen this summer seeing that the difference between us and the Top 10 is 500 points, not the 800/900 it could have been.

This is disputable application.
Probably, we are the best already now. :P
At least, Nostromo's Team has won a team tournament, not KJ's Team.
It is the objective fact.

Yeah, but how many of you are actually the same person with multiple accounts? And how many of you register a new account every so often? When you guys will have 200 games each, we'll consider you actual persons. Until then it's uncertain.

We don't need your approval. You can have 500 games, but it doesn't change anything. I speak about the facts, and you speak about your phobias.

But for some reason you are desperately seeking my approval, as you come back here bragging about your scores all the time. "Facts" - it is when Scott plays 365 games straight without changing accounts, no matter what his score is. And when somebody registers new account just to boost his average, plays 20-50 games and considers himself a new guru, that's just laughable. So yes, it does change everything. When you'll be there for years, not just one season, we'll notice you.

One more time, for especially outstanding gurus. We don't need your attention. Admire itself, looking on quantity of the played games. Probably, it is really funny - don't notice, how others win you. :D

Post Re: Derby Game Discussion Thread
I have mixed feelings on the issue. I've thought about 'rebooting' in the Derby myself, because when I started I was just messing around for the hell of it and it wasn't for a couple of years that I got more into it and studied a little bit. But now my lifetime derby average is so wrecked I don't know if I have much chance of joining the all time top 10 no matter how well I do. So I can understand rebooting to some extent. There's no difference between rebooting and getting really good before starting to play the derby (or other game) - and how would you know the difference?

On the other hand, it's interesting to see a person's learning curve in the ranks, when there is one. I think number of games is important only if a person does not play every single week and tries to avoid the harder games. That's why a person's average relative-to-derby-average score is the ultimate measure of long-term prowess - too bad BOM doesn't keep such a stat, but I do. ;)

This is a shamefully noob question, but can anyone explain how exactly the point system works? After 4 games I have 3,007 points, and an average accuracy of 75.17%, where are the points derived from?

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.

Take your percentage for a week and multiply that by 10.

Say your percentage score was 81%, then you'd gain 810 points. So you have 3007 out of 4000 possible at the moment with 4 games.

ahh, I see, thank you. So is that pretty decent so far? My first two games sucked because I started them way back in december when I didn't really know BO that well, my two games that should actually count have been much better.

It's more than 40 mins after the extended deadline and BOM still takes the forecast. Still no clue what happened last time.

after close - 535 entries

I'm curious how many post-midnight entries there usually are. Looking at chart below I would assume that 13 would be about as common as 12 since a fair number of 13's were probably going for playing all the games, so maybe 10-20 missed last week...

The following tournament (League) will begin on April, 21. Mr.R and some other KJ'ers have played early versions of this game. If there are an interested persons, welcome. It is a great opportunity to define a force of players on the limited time interval.

When I get to 10 games (4 right now), I'll start talking about my rank more.
Until then I have no right, as I haven't played enough games. Right now my
accuracy is 86.09% over the last 4 weeks.

This week will likely decrease that though. Tough week with a wide range of
possibilities. Hopefully I'm close on the holdovers...

^^ If we're talking all time, then Ragnarok was without doubt the greatest player. Vovanik is in the top 5 or so too. Kyle I can see your list is just current players - just a minor distinction.

That's a very solid average at the moment.

Have you posted your predictions for this weekend?

Who the f%ck gave you the right to attribute all Russian players to nostromo? Did you ask them beforehand? The KJ team is a long-established entity. And the Russian team is not a nostromo team. At least, I haven't seen any indication that Russian players associate themselves exclusively with your site. These guys play on kinopoisk.ru for years, we can go all the way to movie.ru, where many of the Russians started out, and yet you keep saying they are all nostromo guys. Verbal masturbation, I'd say...

Yeah, you just made that up out of nowhere. There are no tournaments on BOM. There are people like you and some of your friends who want to boost there score for unknown reasons, registering new accounts every so often and avoiding tough games. Everything else is just bullshit, whatever you say here, and you know it. Get yourself a life, man, - girlfriend, boyfriend or at least a dog, whatever your preference is.

Who the f%ck gave you the right to attribute all Russian players to nostromo?

Say it Corpse, not me, dude. :P Though she is right. The strongest Russian-speaking gamers play on Nostromo, not on Kinopoisk, whence you have been expelled from your sick head. And they are right too. You will remain the loser who has buried movie.ru, and scattering your shit everywhere where you are. Years don't treat you. But it's your problems.
