I don't see the RT score being any lower than 80-85% regardless of the reactions to TWS and GOTG.

I think it will have a worse RT rating. Mind you, it will still be fresh, but I am going with 61%.

I was only hesitant to say for certain that Avengers 2 would out open the first because the box office hadn't seen a huge opening in so long. But Furious 7 makes me think that the box office was just waiting for something hugely appealing. Avengers fits the bill, IMO.

Imo if this not break the opening weekend record, then its staying for time then.

Did a quick estimation and if Avengers 52% 3D share gets to CA2 levels from last year (40%), it could cost $5-10 m opening weekend. Then there's a 4% increase for inflation, so if admissions stay the same for The Avengers 2 compared to the predecessor, it'd get to close to $200-202 m (with a lot of room for error).

Personally I do not see dropping below IM3 45%..

Reasoning is that if it breaks the record or not, demand will be such that 2D shows will sell out and 3D will be only option.

I am already seeing in Canada Cineplex is pushing 3D shows for this.

Apparently, it is outdoing the Avengers in all categories apart from "unaided awareness".

It is a sequel however it is a family blockbuster.

Add in intense interest and wider appeal then any film in the past few years + good buzz.

People think for TA1 it made a high limit, it could have made a lot more... It simply ran out of screen times at theaters around me even going till 10pm on Sunday.
