 Re: Iron Man 3 (INTL)
IRON MAN 3: $795.2M Overseas Total / $1.18B Global Total
made about 20 million this week overseas.
So about ending gross around 810+ million

 Re: Iron Man 3 (INTL)
It might still get close to $825m OS if it made $20m this week.

 Re: Iron Man 3 (INTL)
Yes, it beat ROTK. Though if one were to adjust for ticket prices, exchange rates and the absence of 3D, ROTK's OS haul would inflate to more than Deathly Hallows 2. I think the only films which sold more tickets OS were Titanic, Avatar and Jurassic Park.
When IM3 ends its run, its OS admissions will probably be equal to those of Skyfall. (Its nominal value will be more, but Skyfall was of course only in 2D.) Still extremely impressive, I think its OS ticket sales will only be behind Titanic, Avatar, Jurassic Park, ROTK, DH2, Sorcerer's Stone, Independence Day, The Avengers, Chamber of Secrets and The Lion King. (And the original Star Wars, E.T. and Phantom Menace if you include re-releases.)
Still impressive, and even going by admissions, it's way ahead of every single other superhero movie that's not The Avengers.

The adjusted argument doesn't wash with me. Each era has its own pressures and detractors. It's impressive, end of.

 Re: Iron Man 3 (INTL)
This is undeniably some HOLY SHIT type of gross. I expect The Avengers 2 to have a shot at $1 billion overseas, unless Thor 2, Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America 2 all suck hard.

 Re: Iron Man 3 (INTL)
Yeah this gross solidifies Avengers 2's OS numbers. It should do $900m OS and $1b OS is definitely in the cards.

 Re: Iron Man 3 (INTL)
Its pretty much done in OS markets. It will just be $80m or so lower to Avengers which is a great number for it.

 Re: Iron Man 3 (INTL)
Yes, it is a great performance. As I said before, no other superhero movie other than the Avengers has sold as many tickets outside of North America. #3 is probably Spider-Man 3; if you take BOM's adjusted domestic total of $388.37m and use the same domestic/OS percentage split, you get almost $640m OS. I know that's not truly accurate, but even if one were to adjust every country for ticket price inflation, 3D, and exchange rate changes, SM3 would still fall far behind IM3.
And it's just over $400,000 away from passing Skyfall to become the 5th biggest OS gross. It still has enough momentum to achieve that.
