Is Titantic really going to lose to Avatar? After 3 days TDK had 130M lead whereas Avatar had only 49M lead. So in just 16 days the difference between the differences has gone from 81M to 38M, so yes it is definitely catching up Let us come back to this difference after 24 days. I guess the difference will be minuscule then

Is Titantic really going to lose to Avatar? I think James Cameron figured out how to keep people going to the theaters. How? I have no clue to what his formula is: is it the plot?, the controversy?, his name?, the record investment?, the promotional campaign?, the word of mouth?, the pricing strategy?, the penetration in foreign markets?, the timing with the Oscars?, the lack of real competition in winter? luck?...etc, etc... Who knows. The bottom line is that his movies' box office performance is different from the rest. I wouldn't use the statistical data to forecast Avatar sales. I just think that the "slope" of the curve of Avatar will be closer to Titanic than to the normal "successful" curves like TDK. I mean, Titanic is not as "exponentially" negative as TDK. Most of the movies decrease box office with a big exponential factor. Titanic was losing strength slowly. That's what I think Avatar curve will be like. We'll probably know whether Avatar curve resembles Titanic's curve or not, no later than MLK. I expect Avatar to catch Titanic in 51 days from its release.

Wow seems like other than Movies Avatar is in continuous battle with Nature as well. Funny though cause in Avatar Mother Nature is taking sides. It seems Mother Nature is quite offended with it

I'm rooting for 50m+ but I'm afraid it'll only do mid 40m.
