Exactly - - the first one got 84% on RT despite being a crashing bore that wasted a promising idea.

Yes, as did many many people. The second is supposedly slightly better. I have little doubt that if you disliked the first you will dislike the second as well.

For a film that some expect to beat TA and TDK opening weekend admissions.

I wonder at what basis as hype is not as wide at all.

Its intense but not across the entire audiences.

It is the best one. Mockingjay 1 is gonna drop like a rock from this one. the first half of the book is BORING.

The second half of CATCHING FIRE the book is boring, but that doesn't seem to be hurting the film.

MOCKINGJAY is my favorite of the three.

Catching Fire is a thrill ride of a read - definitely my favorite of the three. So happy to see it's getting the movie treatment it deserves quality-wise.

Ask youself for CF to go past 180 million in 2d it needs to sell more tickets then any film in all time opening weekend.

CF is greatly looked forward to but really can it muster such an opening.

Perhaps we think a big opening day will lead to a massive opening but front loading will occur.

A 90 million opening day will not mean 180 max

It needs to sell 1.8 million more tickets than THE HUNGER GAMES did opening weekend. Yeah, I think it can pull it off.

Last time I remember people said that there was not much hype about a movie was when last Twilight movie opened to 141 milion $ :funny:

i am...not in. i mean, i wouldn't be hugely surprised, but it's hardly the most likely thing. especially given that the first one opened so high, so it wasn't solely a WOM hit.

for me somewhere around $370m seems most likely.

The first movie got 84% on RT despite being a boring mess.

you've seen, what was bad about the film?

It's shoddily directed, poorly edited, ugly as fuck, and overall rather silly.

RT score is just a guide, we all know bad films get from very good to great scores, and good movies sometimes are underrrated on that system

Doesn't mean that much since early scores are inflated (Thor: TDW was at 4.5 last weekend), but CF has 4.7 at netflix. That's the best score I've ever seen at any time.

Haha. I have a thought of someone reading your post and wondering what the hell you meant by "source material", and then having read inside the brackets, their confusion disappeared.

So far 77.6 million Youtube views that I count. HR has over 80m, but that may include fanmade trailers. The Hunger Games had a ratio of 3.36. I hope that can remain above 2.5 for a 200m opening.

Your hate towards this franchise is for Jennifer Lawrence?
Now I get why you liked the twilight saga films
