I'm just not feeling it from this film. The subject matter/plot doesn't seem that interesting. M Night seems to love stories based on Twilight Zone episodes with twist endings, so much to pick from and he does this...... As with all films, unless this just blows everyone away its gonna flop by his standards. I think the Village really hurt him so I'm guessing a 30mil opening and a 60-70mil final.
If its a great film it'll grow legs and get to 110-120mil.

Some people tend to take personal opinion into account way too much when making predictions.

I think this movie might actually suprise us...I think the release date is horrible and will hurt it..I think this should have been released around Oct or Nov.

If it opens to $30 million, it'll make at least $80 million total.

Probably. But Village legs obviously are not impossible.

To think an M.Night film with this type of marketing push that already is tracking well is gonna do around 50m total is kinda unrealistic. I personally dont think it'll do much higher then 100m, probably top out around 85m-95m, but 50m just aint happening.

Well, we'll see how the MTC tracking is on Monday, but it is tracking at $35 million right now, the marketing is just enough (not overload like Superman Returns or anything) and M. Night is still a draw, IMO.

Tracking well? That's RS which had MI3 at 88m, Poseidon at 39m, and TDVC at 47m. This isn't Disney's marketing, this is WB. After the Village I don't think M Night will attract even 50m without great marketing or WOM.

I'm not talking about quantity of marketing, but quality. The Village marketing campaign over its final week was brilliant; among the best ever pulled off.

That's actually funny. I am a big Night fan. I loved Sixth sense and Unreakable. My opinion is based on the fact that The Village pissed off so many people and this film just looks strange. The idea is not exactly setting the world on fire right now. Even the Disney execs who made it thought the idea was weird. That is what i'm basing it on.

I wouldn't be that surprised if that happened. Really.
But for now it seems to indicate a total somewhere between 100 and 120 million, with much better legs than (the brilliant) Village...
