I don't think anybody would accuse me of not being able to take the heat, as I apply more than you or anybody could on their best day and all put together. Don't kid yourself, there.

I simply have better things to do, so since you, da torri, Snrub, Michael, Positive Jon, Gullimont, Shack, Mista Nasty Time, and Chipmunky are such great contributers (and don't just take up space, as common sense would suggest), you should have absolutely no trouble filling such a bad member's shoes as mine. Surely all of you together can handle the task that I did. I am sure that xia or MovieDude would be happy to edit your updates into the first post if you don't want to start a new thread.

Seriously, a good member would handle something like that.

Y'know, it wouldn't hurt for one of you guys to update this and keep it updated. I mean, I did it, and rumor has it that there are members here that are "better" than I was, so they can basically step the fuck up anytime and start keeping this thing for the rest of the box office audience!

Sorry, it had to be said.

We appreciate the hard work you put into this Mav, but obviously none of us are qualified like you were to keep a release date schedule updated. That takes hard work, dedication, wisdom, an ability to get all the women you desire, and probably someone who pays their own bills. Obviously none of us are qualified, but you seem to be. Oh, will you please save us Mavvy? We were mistaken to fight with you and chase you away. Oh Mavvy, what was WOKJ without you? We never knew what we were missing until you were gone. Now threads like these are in disarray, and we have only ourselves to blame for being so cruel to his poor, innocent, greatness. Oh, Mavvy.

It's probably a shoe in for some Golden Globes this way, so it's not a bad move.

Great move. October was filled with horror films. This film gets the SB spot, which has played very well for horror films. With a big name like Alba in this, I think it has a great chance at breaking WASC OW.

Good move.

Jessica Alba aint no big name. She is a flop star.

If Into the Blue where she was nude most of the time couldn't do well then i don't see how this movie will since it is a horror movie and she plays a blind lady.

Horror remake + Female star has led to succuess in the past with films like The Ring, The Grudge, and WASC. I think The Eye has potential to do WASC numbers, and maybe even more.

I think it could open to 25 million if the trailer is half as scary as some scenes in the Japanese original.

I think people overestimate someone like Alba drawing crowds because of hotness... Stuff like her horrid acting in FF42 really drops her stock, people actually have to like her. Films like that could do better with an unknown like Camille Belle was, sometimes I think these divas are actually poison.

Yeah but Jessica Alba has a friendly, hot public image. She isn't one of the women we see candid photos of high as a kite.

The elevator scene comes to my mind. Any bet they'll use that in the marketing!

Hm, that's odd. If it being pushed back to September, that'd be bad. However, that they're moving it [/i]up[/i] to September...odd.

Hmmm - well the same release date in previous years has given us some decent hits:

2005 - Excorsim of Emily Rose - $30m opening
2004 - Res Evil 2 - $23m opening
2003 - Once Upon a time in Mexico - $23m opening
2002 - Barbershop - $21m opening

But I dont know what it will mean for Yuma.

Really depends on if SHOOT 'EM UP can get buzz going at San Diego Comic Con or not, since that is far more along the lines of a September breakout (hyper violent genre fare) than 3:10 TO YUMA which is pretty much bound to open in the range of most modern Westerns, somewhere in the teens.

Of course it's possible SHOOT 'EM UP could go the other way and fall flat on its face.
