Lecter, sorry, but you are always overoptimistic with your total projections. Like it was with a thread MI4 beating PoTC4. One harch drop in coming weeks or some decline in theater counts can always ruin it. The movie hit 8.6 million admissions in Germany last weekend. So much for being overoptimistic. In fact I think it could still hit my increased 8.8 million admissions projection eventually.

Re: INTOUCHABLES (INTL) $358m and counting...
Is this the highest grossing foreign-language film ever?
I can only think of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and that made $213m. But this made $358 so far!

Re: INTOUCHABLES (INTL) $358m and counting...
This movie has some fucking insane legs in Poland. It was 18 weeks in top10. It's going to end with 11+ multiplier and 750k admissions. Unbelievable. And I gave it a chance for 500k admissions at the end of May

I kind of meant 'foreign language-foreign made' movie.

It's legs are unbelievable almost everywhere. Are there many markets where it did just ok or behaved like a normal movie?

Hit 8.65 million admissions in Germany.
I still firmly believe that it'll get to more than 8.8 million admissions (and thus the Top 20 since 1968) before its run is over.
My movie theatre is still playing it in its 40th week (despite the fact that it's out on DVD/BluRay now).

Yep it is looking more and more likely that $400m WW will happen. Wonder how huge the US remake will be, specially if it is as good.

Re: INTOUCHABLES (INTL) $375m and counting...
A US remake would definitely flop in Germany as the original is just too big and popular here: 8.7m admissions, €61m b.o. (=9th biggest of all-time), $80m b.o.

Re: INTOUCHABLES (INTL) $375m and counting...
Indeed. The remake will seem very weird.
Even the remake for The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo was me twith some reservations, even though it ultimately outdid the Swedish film here.
I don't see the Intouchables remake getting more than 1 million viewers here.
I wonder if Intouchables will crawl to 9 million admissions over the next 12 months...

$388,973,071 overseas now. Less than $2 million away from $400 million apparently. So, mark, how long do you think will it take till the film reaches 9 million admissions here?

Re: INTOUCHABLES (INTL)
Yeah, I'm thinking 8.4 million. Meaning it'll beat Intouchables in gross, but not in admissions.
Pretty amazing that we might finally have a year with four movies getting 6+ million admissions again (I assume Skyfall will get there as well).

Re: INTOUCHABLES (INTL)
Can't believe movies play for that long in OS markets. Here in Singapore it didn't do much, great but the run was cut short with onslaught of movies.
