How does Knocked Up look?
My theater would seem to indicate around $30M, perhaps. I think notfabio's low 20s guess is too low, his report is only as of 6 PM PST, and the movie's audience jumped up a ton in the evening at the theater I went to (the 6:30 show was barely half full in a 180-seat theater, the 9:40 in a 400-seat theater sold out, etc.)

It has been consistently 20% ahead of Virgin and 30% behind The Break-Up. The ratio should definitely between the two too, so look like a $9-10m day.

How is Gracie is doing? Derbywise, it's just about the only relavent opener this week. I do hope it isn't anything over 1.2.

So maybe a weekend comparison to The Devil Wears Prada ($27,537,244 on 2,847 theaters in June) is a bit more fitting.

I'm afraid with a reasonable IM, it could gross $1.5m or over for the weekend. Still hard to say though.

Full theater report for the AMC at 10 and 401 in Mississauga:
Knocked Up at 7 pm:
Largest theater in place, 60% full.
Got there late, but i did see the trailer for The Heartbreak Kid with Ben Stiller. Looks funny, crowd laughed.
Die Hard: Very little reaction.
That's all I saw.
As for the film, the funniest film since...well....40YOV. I loved it. I don't think this is going to be a film for a lot of really young people. There is a lot of humour in here aimed at them, but make no mistake about it, this is an adult comedy. Unless you have experience marriage and childbirth and relationship dilemmas and so on, a lot of the humour might be pver your head. I don't think this will open to more than 40 mill like I originally thought. I think it will be about 25 mill with very strong legs. The movie is 2 hours long and it is funny all throughout. This is my favourite movie so far this year, just surpassing Waitress and Seth Rogan, Katherine Heigel, Paull Rudd and Ms. Mann are simply awesome in here. Judd Apatow proves that he is more than just adept at comedy as he has some very touching moments in here. I think this will do more than 100 mill, but it might have a lot of people who haven't been through this stuff thinking it is fine, but not hysterical, and of course the complete oppostie for those of us that have been there.
9/10
AWE: 6:30 show...1/4 full
AWE: 730 show...40% full'
AWE: 8:00 show..60% full
AWE 9 pm show...90% full
AWE 9:30 show... 95-100% full
Shrek 630 show.. 20%
Shrek 700 show..50%
""" 800 70%
"""" 900 50%
Spidey.. 7 pm 50%
""" 9 pm: 1/4 full
Bug: 8 pm show: 1/4 full in smallest theater
Mr. Brooks: 7:30 show.. sold out.... .(it got really good reviews here)
Knocked Up 9:30 show..sold out or close to it.
I think KU is heading for about a 25 mill weekend.

Knocked Up is most certainly on pace for $10M+ tonight and a likely $30M+ weekend.

I'd say $10.5m for Knocked Up and $2.5-3.0m for Mr. Brooks.

Ocean's 13 has been on the front page for awhile. And, considering the link to the "Summer Movie Guide", I think all three openers will have increased exposure today, so keep that in mind later on.

Will Hostel Part 2 have a higher ratio because of the somewhat rampant piracy?
