Does it ultimately matter though? How many ratings/reviews it gets. Sith had more than DMC, and look what happened there. Am I missing something? Sith also had more prints I believe.

yes your missing something. you dont know how this works. it isnt more reviews=more money. its ratios. spideys ratio should be around 125. 7000/125=57 (million).

Also Sith was 4 days. If it had been three I think it would have made more money that Pirates 2 did.

Does alot of written reviews equal a good or bad thing? Anyone wanna explain this.

It actually has the same amount of written reviews POTC2 had at this time. Interesting.

The written reviews have slown down quite a bit; the ratio should be at most right around POTC2's level. Right now I'm thinking somewhere in the $55-60m range counting the midnight.

Hey, your're smart. What do the written reviews mean?

We haven't found the exact correlation yet, but higher # of written reviews with respect to overall reviews could mean more people who want to express their opinion, maybe more fakes, and thus maybe a higher ratio. A ratio is calculated by dividing the overall number by the actual opening day gross, so the idea in this thread is to get a good estimate on the ratio by studying it over time so that we could project the gross by dividing the number by the ratio.

I'll use a ratio of 115 from the last update for a $57M Friday.

Not with the super-saturated theater count. Plus, high ratios have been rare the last 3-6 months.

hmm ... thanks for the info. traditionally, i've seen you guys give high ratios for fan driven and internet driven films.
but the high theater count thing is true. i bought my spiderman tickets 2 hours before going there. there were tooo many screens. does this mean that the saturday fall should be great?
