Well, you don't really have to follow a code of "ethics" to be superheroes...

I mean, Hulk is somewhat of a superhero, yet follows no ethics from what I can remember.

That depends on what incarnation of the Hulk we are talking about, but I agree that he's not a superhero.

When I mentioned Spielberg and Cruise, I was commenting on Star Wars' comment, as well.

I feel so violated.

You'll come around, MG. You'll understand this clearer as every day passes.

You do realize, Mav, however, that legs won't be good for this one. The best it can hope at are I, Robot's legs, but even that is unlikely.

No, I don't realize that, and you have absolutely nothing to back it up. It could have tremendous legs for all we know.

Right....

How do you define "tremendous"?

Any multiplyer 4 or above, I guess. (with a 60 million opening) We really have no clue, until we see the movie, and even then, the quality doesn't mean much. If Michael Jackson's Neverland Tour fails to draw/ keep the kids, another unknown factor at this point, F4 will be the one that gains the most from it.

Michael Jackson is the perfect comparision for the monstrosity of Depp's looks in Charlie Choco.

F4 will not get a multiplier of 4. Do you really expect it to be this summer's POTC? C'mon. Movies like this one have NATURAL frontloading. Just like X-Men and X2 did. The first X-Men didn't even manage a multiplier of 3, I believe and that was over 5 years ago, when frontloading wasn't THAT big.

Arghhhh... ](*,) I was asked what I thought tremendous legs were, not what I thought Fantastic Four would make. Are we not in agreement that a 4 multiplyer to a 60 million opening would be tremendous legs?

No, I don't expect it to be another POTC, but it's the one movie that could be, and NOBODY expected POTC to be a POTC, either.

X2 had Reloaded taking away any chance it had of making a big run. Not a fair comparison.

There have been plenty of movies with NATURAL frontloading, and yet, they've gone on to clear 240 million anyway.

Paris Hilton's mom is cuter than she is.

Now I do have 1 Question about all this: Now I'm in on the 60 Million opening club, but not any higher than that, but WHY did FOX open this on July 8th instead of over the busy 4th of July weekend??? Even though I'm in on this, I'm a little more skeptical about it than I would've been if it opened a week earlier like it was intended to be.. :-k

Maybe because War of the Worlds would have CRUSHED it?

I am very very much supporting War of the Worlds, but it would've been interesting to see if both would cancel one another out.. I guess FOX wasn't THAT confident in doing so..

No surprise considering the benemoth War of the Worlds is supposed to be...

If released against it, both would be hurt, but still make big amounts of money. As it became evident over the Memorial's Day weekend this year, it was possible for THREE $45+ million grossing movies to co-exist over a weekend. I'd say Fantastic Four would have made around $45 million over three days and War of the Worlds around $75 million...

I don't know if this is the official runtime, but I hope it is. According to imdb.com, it's 2 hours and 3 minutes long. That would be a perfect length!

That is the perfect running time. Shockingly, it's longer than War of the Worlds...
