Oh btw Thor opened to 89m in 54 markets. First of all you are just not behind this movie so as Nazgul said stop being so annoying, for a person who gives the title MARVEL_ROCKS this is absurdity. With even $130m domestic total (from $55m with IM of 2.4 which is weak for a better received movie), it should cross $170m OS total for 300m WW and don't tell me it can't make $170m OS from $61m start while it is doing better than Wolverine(which made $193m OS) in those markets. Thor should never be compared to this it was official start of Summers in most of the markets, it is easier sell with Norse god mythology (check Clash of the Titans), it didn't have any major competition except for about 20 markets where Fast Five opened before it (most of the markets Fast Five expanded after Thor), it was released over May Holiday in most of the markets and most of all this was a new commodity (specially this year when there have been string of not-so-good in OS action movies for past 4 months). X-Men had to deal with Pirates, Hangover 2 and Kung Fu Panda 2 (including this because most of the OS markets can handle only one big movie at a time and X-Men is also rated PG). I agree that you are against the movie (I can accept one or two posts of hatred) but seriously stop posting repetitive hatred posts every second post, which are also not correct. Either you are ignoring the facts or you have no clue how OS markets work.

Re: COMICS 2011 (INTL.) - X-MEN: First Class
X-Men did really well in Hong Kong.
1. X-Men: First Class - $1,515,704 (up 13% from Thor's 5-day total)
X-Men: First Class did +38% better than Wolverine's OW (also a 5-day total). This proves that the X-Men brand sells over here in this market and not individual characters (Wolverine).

LadiesMan, shut up. Your X-Men trolling is ridiculous and annoying. It'll pass $350 million worldwide, I have little doubts about that.

To be fair though, Wolverine was the first big film of the summer in pretty much every market, with nowhere near the competition that X-Men: First Class is facing. When Wolverine opened here in Holland, the next biggest film (17 Again) made $294,681 for the weekend. That's less than what the #4 film made this pas weekend (Rio, $341,815). Add Pirates ($1,748,197) and Hangover ($1,463,989) and it's no surprise that X-Men: First Class didn't do nearly as well as Wolverine. Of course X-Men: The Last Stand opened against The Da Vinci Code's $2,189,670 second week and still did better...

Re: COMICS 2011 (INTL.) - X-MEN: First Class
http://admin.boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=3180&p=.htmFrom BOM Quote: X-Men: First Class was unleashed in 74 countries and drew $61 million, which was close to X-Men: Wolverine's openings in the same countries overall. If we consider inflation of 2 years that number is quite down, still given the competition it did ok. It can have better legs in OS markets, specially this weekend with Super 8 being the only new release in most of its markets.

^ I was right when I said that this movie will NOT cross 300m worldwide. @ Lecter's 350m worldwide. Matthew Vaughn is a boxoffice curse. X-men: FC is officially a major disappointment at boxoffice. This will NOT get a sequel.

Oh I'll bash him anyway because he is annoying. : ) Even if I am wrong.
Indeed, Germany's opening is not too hot, but maybe it'll have some legs.

X-men: FC to gross 1.2+m this weekend in India. It would have done 2+m if it wasn't facing the 2nd weekend of a local movie that had the third highest opening week of all a bollywood film.

Re: COMICS 2011 (INTL.) - X-MEN: First Class
BRAZIL - Opening Weekend
X-Men has been traditionally ver strong in this market; at least on opening. First Class is on par with the past two X-Men releases and counts as the 5th largest opening of 2011. Not bad.
1) The Twilight Saga: Eclipse - $10,356,525 (or $6,443,392 3-Day - 818) 2) Harry Potter 7-1: DH - $9,670,469 (or $7,384,582 3-Day - 1014) 3) Pirates Of The Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides - $8,400,359 (754) 4) Rio - $8,349,383 (1016) 5) Harry Potter 6: HBP - $8,315,625 (15.8m Raeis/ 1.8m adms. 5-Day or $4,840,468 3-Day - 688) 6) Tropa de Elite 2: O Inimigo Agora É Outro (Elite Squad 2) (2010) - $7,882,884 (710) 7) Spiderman 3 - $7,285,159 (14m Raeais - 875) 8) The Twilight Saga: New Moon - $6,911,031 (744) 9) Shrek 4 - $6,881,274 (12,072,411 Raeis - 620) 10) Harry Potter 5: OOTP - $6,439,817 (5-Day or $3,919,060 3-Day - 725)

Very good number. It has now opened in all major markets, though.
I still think that $200+ million overseas is happening.

It released in 8 countries this weekend.

Re: COMICS 2011 (INTL.) - X-MEN: First Class
Well, looks like Thor is going to win the overseas crown for the comic books, i dont see either Green Lantern or Captain America doing more than X-Men type numbers.
