Re: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Predicts
Think you might be right.
The only two I see coming close would be WALL*E or DARK KNIGHT, but I just don't see them ascending those heights (CARS level success for W*E, maybe high $200s for TDK). Think MUMMY 3's good for a low-to-mid $200M+ gross too.
I think INDY has what it takes to do at least mid-300s. One-two combo of INDY 4 & IRON MAN for the top 2 summer spots, me thinks???

Looks like I'll be pretty close.

No, it's going to pass $300 million pretty easily. Worst case scenario, its weekend will be right on par with that of At World's End, and with a smaller drop to boot. The two are at similar totals, so at the very least, Indy should be able to make it to $310-315 million domestically. I think it could go higher than that though, just given the early report that it had a huge jump today.

Especially considering a bunch of people pretty much had the film nailed.

Re: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Predi
This was a fun box office run. The initial $25M opening day seemed like a disappoint, only to have it rebound over the weekend. We also had the Iron Man vs Indy battle, which turned out to be irrelevant when The Dark Knight crushed them both.
2008 was also the only year in this millennium that had no winter/spring films cracked the top 6. Twilight was the highest at #7.

Where's the 5th film already?
Ford's 70th Birthday is in less than a month. Now he's in another big budget film Ender's Game. I still watch the film whenever it's on. Its a lot of fun.
Summer 08 was a lot like 89 and 84 all over again. Indy takes 3rd domestically, 1st internationally. Def a fun summer thanks to iron Man really surprising.

Also one really has to wonder how good Avengers would have done if Iron Man hadn't been the success that it was.
