Australia has a population of 21 million. The countries around it on that list have populations over 60 million. So the Oz number (for this and most films) is HUGE in comparison. I wonder how ticket price compares around the world (in USD)?

Interesting. You would need industry contacts or media credentials i suspect. It doesnt have a registration page, so you may have to contact them: CONTACT US Head Office (UK) +44 (0)20 7424 2820 Lymehouse Studios, 30/31 Lyme Street, London, NW1 0EE, UK sales@screendigest.com US Office (Adams Media Research) +1 (831) 624-0303 2511 Garden Rd., B-250 Monterey, CA 93940 info@adamsmediaresearch.com I wonder how much it costs. It may be feasible for a bunch of us to chip in for membership if it was possible.

(1 US dollar = about 1,100 South Korea won) i'm expecting it will be the first foreign film that will draw more than 10 million moviegoers. Then, whole selling ticket price would be 95,000,000,000 South Korea won or so. Go, Avatar!!

In other words $761M OS which is $4M more than BOM is reporting. I start to wonder if BOM numbers aren't missing some countries boxoffice results because they are always 3-4 milion lower than everyone else.

It's really insane how fast it took Avatar to make it to #2 ALL TIME worldwide. That's gotta be a record by a mile.

I think so they have missed it once and they are still trying to figure out which one they missed, cause it cannot be that same countries are making 4M everyday

Call me hyperbolic, but Avatar getting to #2 all-time in 20 days is one of the greatest box-office achievements I have ever heard of. Maybe the greatest. The #1 of all-time record will always be beat sooner or later, but I don't know if we'll ever see something like this again.

Dude freaking Ice Age 3 topped 700m last year. Shits going to be the norm no matter what with 3D prices being so high.
Toy Story 3, Shrek 4 are going to be the members in billion dollar club

I don't see Avatar holding these records as well as Titanic did. Both will go down eventually but it will be interesting to see who will take them down
