I am very glad that The Honeymooners bombed. It looks like it is going to end up with about 6-7 mill for the weekend. A very deserved failure.
Probably not even that much.
I still think the whole race argument is stupid, but I have to say this terribly formulac-looking comedy not doing well isn't entirely surprising.

I guess Jolie is still box office poison, though. Right, roidrage (and everyone else who said it...)? Actors are much less of a draw than is supposed. I want a fun film. This looks like a fun film. I couldnt care less about the stars if the film didnt look exciting enough. I have a huge crush on Angelina, but I've not seen most of her films because, to be honest, most look horrible. This one doesn't. Angelina Jolie is pretty freaking amazing in this, I think. She turned *me* on slightly and I'm straight.
She turns me on and I am straight too. Woo Hoo. \:D/
I am many years younger than Brad and am a handful years younger than Angelina. But, if Angelina was ever looking for a 3rd party, I would be happy to join in the fun. Not something I would usually be into, but whatever. There are exceptions. =;
I just read today that Angelina had her first live in boyfriend at 14 who was also the same age. Wow, thats too young.

I understand that this will probably come off as bullshit and hindsight to most of you, but I don't understand how anybody thought this would do under 50 million. If I was around, I might have even been the one to start this thread. Good call, Box.

I underestimated the fact that more people would act like me.

I would have definitely tried (again) to get you to up your prediction. I was planning on seeing it this weekend, too, but other stuff got in the way. Maybe I'll get a chance tomorrow.

Lets not start those crazy 60 million opening fro Troy just because Brad Pitt was in it or Ocean's 12 opening up to 50 million just because its a sequel to a hit. I dont even need to use list Queen poison herself since shes on a good carange streak except for Shark Tales
I say a 35 million opening maybe lower
Keeping that streak of bad predictions alive, I see.

Just a bad month in predicting for mid May to early June thats all [-( . Ill be back in full force once Batman Begins better than expected gross kicks in which would offset Fantastic Four and my good luck would be back in full force just like for a good portion of May/April
Anyhow predictions aside, welcome back to the board. I heard you came back after your comeback band Loverboy lost out to Flock of Seagulls in that show Hit Me Baby One More Time

Thank you, but it wasn't Flock of Seagulls that won, it was Arrested Development.

Cool then, I might give it a whirl. AJ does look on top of her game in this one.

Sadly, no, not at all, but given the fact that this was the first time I have ever seen people applaude at the end of a film, and the positive murmur around the theatre, this film will hold up quite well in the weeks to come.
In general, I think I am in the small minority on this film. Most will enjoy it. But then again, I think most people will not think beyond the basics of it. That is only understandable, as the film is not worth the effort.

It's gonna drop big this weekend, next weekend it should have a nice hold, then the week after it's gonna have another big drop because of WOTW. I dont see how any of this is working in it's favor. Batman & WOTW arent I,Robot and Village or Bourne & Village, whichever way you wanna look at it.

The only way this film will have good legs is by attracting more people, which I feel it does have the power to do over the comming wks. We will just have to wait and see.

I think it can hit $150 million.
If it drops 50-55% this weekend, and then under 50% the rest of its run, it should be able to reach $150 million with the summer weekdays. Plus, WOM is great, so I don't see how it will just fall flat on its face against Batman and War of the Worlds. I mean, the audience for Mr. and Mrs. Smith isn't just guys, people. It's girls, and also, a very wide range of ages. Lots of elders would pick this over Batman.

Well I haven't seen it but I heard it was good so I was assuming it would have good legs but I guess I was wrong and it isn't that good? Yeah, I am predicting $173 million for this but as I said it COULD hit $180 million it's not impossible (yet).

It really has nothing to do with being good or not, im sure it's good from what I hear, but the competition is too stiff for it to be able to make 180m, im banking on maybe 145m-150m

Well, I wouldn't exactly get ahead of yourself here just yet.. Mr. and Mrs Smith might be the film that cancels out BATMAN BEGINS for at least a 1/3 of it's audience and be a movie for the folks that don't give a crap about BATMAN and as hard as it may be to grasp, that even though BEGINS is good, not everyone will be convinced and will still remember the last 2 movies, whther this has Nolan in it or not..

Be honest now, which movie do you really think is gonna hurt the other more, a very hyped up Batman that is the new release or the movie thats already been out one week and most likely wont do more then around 25m the coming weekend? Begins will take away Smith's male audience, nothing is taking away 1/3 of batman's audiences, thats absurd, Smith's main audience is female Begins is male, im sure whatever male audience Smith has would rather go see Batman if they're between the ages of 13-30.

I honestly think your going to be surprised.. That's all I'll say.. I don't think BATMAN is gonna be the Juggernaught many of you are expecting it to be on opening day and for that matter, the weekend.. It's either a movie you like or don't like..
