I'm pretty much giving this the adjusted OW of 300, but I have no idea what legs will look like. I'm sure they will be good, but September is stacked with competition.
No one expected American Sniper to open to $89M in January or that 300 a R-rated comic book movie would open to $70M in March. I didn't want to believe the hype at first, but everything is pointing to this movie being HUGE out the gate.

I agree. Excited to see how it performs.

Re: "It" $75+ million OW Club
I think it could do $100m+. My actual prediction is $102m after a $47m OD.

I finally had a club success with the La La Land $100/150+ million club, and I wanna go big again. This would be an insane number for a horror flick, but it's already making some insane hype for a horror flick. The trailer on YouTube has been viewed nearly 7 million times in only 12 hours, and the video on the movie's official Facebook page has been shared over 1.7 million times, a level of sharing reserved only for sappy support-the-troops posts. This seems to be tapping into some hardcore nostalgia for the original novel/miniseries, and I think that kind of hype can get infectious if applied right, especially since it'll be opening after a fairly event-free August.

Yeah great job on calling this one Johnathan. Looking back I can't believe how hesitant I was, but It is going to fucking crush this OW to rubble, and make it look so easy while doing it.

Congratulations to all that joined the club!!! And especially big kudos to eight brave souls that joined before the second trailer dropped and before the hype machine really kicked in. Turns out I could have gone pretty damn high with this and still been safe! But hooray!
